The Saints have won four straight matchups against the Falcons.

New Orleans allowed opponents to score touchdowns on 43.5% of red zone trips, the lowest in the NFL last season.

Jameis Winston, the No. 1 draft pick in 2015, recovered from his season-ending cruciate ligament tear in Week 8 of 2021. New Orleans was 5-2 after winning the game, Winston was injured, then went 4-6 without him.

The Falcons recorded just 18 sacks in 2021, the fewest in the NFL and 11 fewer than the next-lowest team.

Atlanta has lost its last four season openers

Sunday’s win will see the Falcons above .500 for the first time since ending the 2017 season with a 10-6 record.

Will Tom Brady be ready to leave after missing part of Bucs preseason? | What is wright

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady recently missed a large portion of the preseason due to “personal reasons.” Should Bucs fans be worried about Tom’s readiness for the season? Nick Wright thinks there may be cause for concern.

FOX Sports Betting Analyst’s Picks Geoff Schwartz:

I’m not putting a 5.5 on the road with the Saints. That’s crazy. They just lost a Hall of Fame coach and quarterback, a left tackle and a few players from an underrated 2021 defense.

Her new coach was unsuccessful in his first NFL coaching stint, and the transfer-prone Jameis Winston is guiding her. It’s too early in the season to bet money on a team I have so many questions about.

So my play for this game calls for fading Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota. His passing yards prop is set at 218.5, which seems like a low number, but based on the last three years Mariota has started, the number could be high.

In Mariota’s last three starting seasons in Tennessee, 2017-2019, he did not average passing yards for more than 218.5 yards. In his last two seasons (2018-19), he didn’t even come close to averaging 200 passing yards. The Saints are returning most of their tough defense as of 2021, and the Falcons have legitimate passing threat at the receiver position. Mariota will fight. block him out

SELECT: Mariota under 218.5 yards
