NFL odds Week 3: How to bet Bengals-Jets

The AFC North takes on the AFC East in Week 3 of the 2002 season NFL Season.

The Cincinnati Bengals visit Empire State to play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bengals are winless after two games, including last week’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys without Dak Prescott. While Joe Burrow & Co. looked good in bouts, the offensive line is permeable and has allowed 13 sacks in two games. Everyone loves the new “Broadway Joe’s” swag, but for the Bengals to have a chance this season, they need to protect their quarterback.

The Jets go into this game on a positive note after defeating the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 for their first win of the season. While Joe Flacco was sporadic, rookies Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner exceeded expectations early on with their big games. If the youngsters continue to play with such spirit, these Jets may have something special in store for them in the near future.

Here’s everything you need from a betting perspective on the Bengals Jets game, from point spread, moneyline, total over/under and expert picks (odds via FOX Bet):

TIED TOGETHER: Week 3 rows, odds

Bengal @ nozzles (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point distribution: Cincinnati -4.5 (Bengals favor win by more than 4.5 points, otherwise cover Jets)
money line: Cincinnati -227 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $14.41 total); Win New York +190 underdogs (bet $10 to win $29 total)
Total score over/under: Both teams scored 46.5 points together

FOX Sports Betting Analyst’s Picks Jason McIntyre:

This game is a rehash of last year’s Halloween when the Jets rode third-rate QB Mike White to a rousing 34-31 win. White passed for 405 yards and three TDs, including two in the last five minutes. Play-wise, the Jets won outright as an 11.5-point underdog!

Cincinnati can’t protect Joe Burrow (again) as he’s absorbed 13 sacks in two games and their tackles were abused by TJ Watt and Micah Parsons. As a result, the Bengals didn’t have any explosive plays (over 20 yards) against Dallas last week. But the Jets don’t have an edge rusher of this quality. Coach Robert Saleh has to pick Blitze as his front four can’t get much pressure (30th in pressure rate). So that’s a big matchup to watch in this game.

The Bengals have trailed by double digits in the first half of the last four games dating back to last year’s playoffs. Eventually, Cincinnati will get it together…right? That’s a discussion for another day.

The Jets’ safety was atrocious and was roasted for three deep points against Lamar Jackson in Week 1. The Bengals faced two bad QBs – Cooper Rush and Mitchell Trubisky – and now they face Joe Flacco. The game feels like it has shootout potential as the Jets’ rookie skill players made a massive leap from week 1 to week 2.

The total has already increased from 43 to 45. You missed the best number, but over 45 is the choice.
