The 1-2 Washington Commanders play at the 2-1 Dallas Cowboys as one of the NFL’s most intense rivalries rages on.
The team with the star on their helmets leads the all-time streak 75-47-2, winning the two games in 2021 and winning nine of the last 12 matchups against Washington.
Dallas comes into this showdown after back-to-back wins. Can Cooper Rush & Co. take third place in a row?
Here’s everything you need from a betting perspective on the Commanders Cowboys game, from point spread, moneyline, total over/under and expert picks (odds via FOX Bet):
TIED TOGETHER: Parity makes for a wild ride
commanders @ cowboys (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
Point distribution: Cowboys -3 (Cowboys prefer to win with more than 3 points, otherwise cover commanders)
money line: Cowboys -175 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $15.71 total); Commanders +135 Win underdogs (bet $10 to win $23.50 total)
Total score over/under: Both teams scored 41.5 points together
The Commanders have been 5-9 against the spread (ATS) and 4-10 straight up (SU) against the Cowboys since 2015, hitting the over in the over/under (O/U) 10 times in those games.
The Cowboys have been at home to NFC East opponents since 2018, 10-2 ATS and 11-1 SU, hitting too many in 10 of those games.
The Cowboys have been 18-7 ATS and 19-6 SU against NFC East opponents since 2018, overturning in 16 of those games.
Select over Gambling Analyst Sam Panayotovich:
This is turning into one of the most one sided games in Las Vegas right now. Bookmakers are writing tickets hand over fist on Dallas as the short favourite, but the line has shifted from Dallas -2.5 to -3. Interesting right?
Respectable players short the Cowboys in the role of favorites and grab the points. Not many souls are willing to bet Washington after failing against Philadelphia last weekend, but I think Carson Wentz & Co. will have every chance to pull off the upset.
SELECT: Commanders (+3 on FOX Bet) to lose (or win outright) by less than 3 points
Insights via the FOX Sports Betting Analyst Jason McIntyre:
Earlier in the week money came in at the Cowboys to take that line from -2.5 to heavily juiced -3. Is this an attempt to get back to Washington +3 when the limits are increased later in the week?
All signs point to Dallas here, especially in the trenches. Carson Wentz was fired nine times by the Eagles last week; in walks Micah Parsons – who leads the NFL in pressure at 19 – and a wild Dallas pass rush that pressured Daniel Jones 24 times. But be very careful when buying high in Dallas and selling low in Washington.
The total has already dropped from 43 to 41.5. In a rivalry game, I would look at the dog and below.
