NFL odds Week 4: How to bet Jaguars-Eagles

The 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars play the Philadelphia Eagles 3-0 in the NFL’s unofficial Doug Pederson Bowl.

Pederson already has a four-way tie for most coaching wins in Jaguars history in his first season as Jaguars coach. Pederson coached the Eagles to the 2018 Super Bowl LII title.

Early selection via FOX Sports Analyst Geoff Schwartz:

When the NFL schedule was set in mid-May, I doubt many of us would have marked this game as a marquee matchup between two up-and-coming teams. The Eagles are 3-0 up and look like the team to beat in the NFC. They’re fueled by their trench play, including a defensive line that Carson Wentz sacked nine times on Sunday. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has continued to improve his game, and this offense seems unstoppable, especially when he has 48 first-half points over the past two weeks.

Jacksonville has been smoking the Colts and Chargers for the past two weeks. Led by former Eagles coach Doug Pederson, this Jaguars roster is built like the Eagles. The offensive line opens up running lanes and protects Trevor Lawrence while the defensive line goes after opponents. Rookie linebacker Devin Lloyd continues his journey to Rookie Defensive Player of the Year with 24 tackles and two interceptions.

With both teams having the same plan for success, you need to score points with the Jaguars early in the week. That line will fall as we get closer to kickoff when everyone realizes the Jaguars are really good.

It’s also worth noting that the Eagles could have a big lead since they have the first three games. Do not fret. The Eagles were up 38-21 late in the third quarter but ended the game with only a three-point win. The Eagles didn’t score in the second half against the Vikings or Commanders. The Jaguars are a team that won’t give up and keep fighting even when they’re down. That means a live bet if Jacksonville goes down could be another spot to look at.

SELECT: Jaguars (+6.5 on FOX Bet) lose (or win outright) with less than 6.5 points
