NFL odds Week 4: How to bet Seahawks-Lions

Seattle has had success against Detroit in the past. The Seahawks are hoping to extend their four-game winning streak against the Lions when the NFL teams play at the Motor City on Sunday.

The Seahawks lead the all-time streak 11-5 and have won their last four contests, including a 51-29 decision on Jan. 2.

That game is difficult to snag with the Lions’ Thursday morning injury report covering half of their starting offense. And I don’t feel comfortable betting blindly on the Seahawks because they stink. So I think the game lasts Geno Smith under 252.5 passing yards.

That’s a hefty sum and an overreaction to Smith’s 325-yard throw last weekend. Smith had previously thrown under 200 yards in his first two starts. In his three starts last season, Smith threw no more than 209 yards. The Lions’ defense has not allowed throwing for more than 252 yards in two of their first three games. Also, Detroit is struggling to stop the run and Pete Carroll will be more than happy to lead the game throughout the game.

That number is just way too high. Give me Smith under passing yards.
