Noel Gallagher says his brother Liam should ‘get his people to call my people’ about an Oasis reunion.

Noel made the comments in an interview with radio station France Inter days after Liam sparked renewed hope of a reunion by telling a fan on Twitter that “it’s happening”.

Speaking to French media, Noel said “there’s something in the newspapers in England today”.

“He should get his people to call my people. They know who they are, they know where we are, stop talking on the fucking internet, let’s see what you have to say,” he says.

The interviewer then asks if it’s “just a phone call?”

“You would think so, right? you would think. He has my number, he has my manager’s number, call us.”

Noel then adds, “But you know what? He won’t call.”

When asked why, Noel replies, “Why indeed. Why indeed.”

The group broke up in 2009 Gallagher Quitting after a confrontation with his younger brother Liam at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris.

After Noel’s interview, Liam tweeted: “That’s the way I see it, the little fella aka Potato has done a lot of damage to Oasis as a band/brand, he has a lot to make up for, not just me, but you, the fans, the people that got us there, where we are today, just as you were LG x.”

The age-old debate about an Oasis reunion still excites fans. Even the slightest hint that it might actually happen can reignite hopeful rumors.

Fans have long believed Noel’s estranged wife was the focus of his falling out with his brother – and his changing tone since their divorce earlier this year indicates that there might be something to it.

Ever since Oasis went their separate ways, the Mancunian brothers have notoriously been locked in an intense sibling rivalry.

Liam has often publicly advocated a reunion, with Noel usually being the more reluctant of the two.

However, the elder Gallagher has previously joked that he would reunite the band for £100million.

While Liam has focused on a solo career, Noel formed a new band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Both have performed at the Glastonbury Festival in recent years – a setting often touted by fans as the perfect spot for a surprise Oasis reunion.

Of course the fans reacted…

Here are some of the best tweets from people desperate for Liam to answer the phone right now:

“Please give the fans what they want, LG”

“CALL HIM”

“Blood is thicker than water Liam x”

“What I would do to get a ticket to an Oasis meeting cannot be said here.”
