Caledon Council

Dufferin County Resolution Regarding the Inclusion of the Dufferin County Section of Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon Advocacy for Road Safety

A Dufferin County resolution earlier this month supports the City of Caledon’s endorsement of asking the province to work with the city to develop a traffic and road safety study funded by the Department of Transportation. The entire length of Highway 10 in Caledon is being analyzed as the city prepares for massive growth over the next several decades.

Brampton Committee of the Council

Algoma University delegation, re: Algoma University Downtown Footprint Expansion Update

Algoma University will present an update to the council on its planned downtown expansion. The university completed a housing study that revealed a need for approximately 350-400 individual living quarters for up to 5,000 students. This spring, the construction of new apartments will be put out to tender, which are expected to be ready for occupancy in 2-3 years.

A statement of the remuneration and expenses paid to members of the council, local officers and committees for the previous year must be submitted to the council by March 31 of each year.

Overview of the PDSB Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy: Phase 3 Planning

The 2023-2026 Mental Health Strategy and Year 1 Action Plan will be released in time for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Five goals were identified for the first three years of the strategy; The PDSB reviewed the data collected by advisory groups and produced a draft strategy with 3-5 priorities listed. The draft strategy is then reviewed and possibly narrowed down to 3 priorities. Once finalized and released, the core leadership team will begin work on the Year 1 Action Plan for Implementation.
