Potion Permit: How To Save

Potions Permission is a casual action adventure game developed by MassHive Media and published by PQube. Players take on the role of a chemist from the Medical Association who has been sent to the town of Moonbury. Moonbury has always been suspicious of chemists, particularly those from the city and therefore the Medical Association, due to a past incident that killed a number of unique plant species in and around the city. The mayor has asked the club for help to cure his daughter’s illness, which is the first task the players are given upon arrival at Moonbury. After the mayor’s daughter is cured, he asks the player to stay in town and continue to help the community, hoping to improve relations with the town.

How to save the game

Luckily, while the game doesn’t do a fantastic job of explaining how to save the game, the method is actually very simple and players are likely to accidentally save the game multiple times in the early stages of the game. This is because the only way to save the game is to sleep in the potions house bed.

More specifically, the game saves automatically at the end of each day, and since sleeping advances the game to the next day, this is the main means of forcing the game to save during gameplay. Therefore, the best time for players to take a break is at the start of a new day, before doing anything else, so they can pick up right where they left off.

In the early stages, the player doesn’t have much to do each day, so after the usual routine of gathering ingredients and completing the initial objectives (collecting herbs, brewing some cures, and healing the mayor’s daughter) going to bed just enough. Later on, players looking to maximize their efficiency will likely gather as many ingredients as possible, running around town talking to people and collecting bonds and brewing potions to treat or sell via the Post Drop Box before resting each day. Therefore, once players start the main game loop in earnest, the time between saves will be slightly longer.

Potions Permission is available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Amazon Luna.
