PSV vs. Rangers live score, updates, highlights & lineups from UEFA Champions League playoff second leg

Rangers are just one game away from claiming a place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2010.

Standing in their way are Dutch giants PSV and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side need a special performance in the Netherlands if they are to make that dream a reality.

A 2-2 draw from the first leg leaves the game well balanced but PSV will be slight favorites due to home advantage.

The Sporting News follows the game live and provides live score updates and commentary.

20 minutes after kick-off: Remember that the winner of today’s game will advance to tomorrow’s Champions League group stage draw. Celtic is already in. The loser enters the Europa League with the draw for that set on Friday.

There is a lot at stake in a football game.

45 minutes after kick-off: If you’re wondering where striker Alfredo Morelos is tonight then let Van Bronckhorst explain.

The Colombian is Rangers’ all-time top scorer in Europe but the manager made the bold decision to drop him from the squad tonight.

Morelos hasn’t started a game this season and didn’t help his cause when he came on as a substitute at the weekend, only to see a red card 13 minutes later.

“I know he wants to play but to play for Rangers you have to be at a certain level mentally and physically – and at the moment he’s not ready to play,” said Van Bronckhorst.

65 minutes after kick-off: And this is how the visitors line up. Van Bronckhorst have made two changes from the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Hibs, with Glen Kamara and Malik Tillman taking the places of Ryan Jack and Rabbi Matondo.

75 minutes after kick-off: PSV left early with their starting eleven. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team is unchanged compared to the team that started at Ibrox.

90 minutes after kick-off: So after last week’s 2-2 draw at Ibrox, we all go into today’s game on an equal footing.

Armando Obispo scored a draw for PSV in the first leg of their Champions League playoff showdown with Rangers – and spared his goalkeeper Walter Benitez’ blush.

Benitez botched a routine save in the 70th minute, letting Tom Lawrence’s free-kick slip out of his grip and squirming over the line to give Rangers a 2-1 lead.

The lead lasted just eight minutes when centre-back Obsipo headed home from a Cody Gakpo corner, with a delivery of Manchester United’s declared goal also leading to Ibrahim Sangare’s first-half opener.

Rangers were quickly level in the 40th minute when Antonio Colak’s intelligent finish from a James Tavenier first cross capped a beautiful team move.
