Barcelona hope to put a frustrating opening weekend behind them as they travel north to face Real Sociedad in their second La Liga game of the season.
Despite a productive pre-season and a host of new attacking weapons at their disposal, the Blaugrana were sidelined at home to Rayo Vallecano in a 0-0 draw last week. Recently acquired Robert Lewandowski is yet to make his mark in the Spanish top flight but could do so on the road this weekend.
Real Sociedad finished sixth in La Liga last season and will surely pose another defensive challenge for the Barcelona frontline, which is still building chemistry.
La Real got off to a winning start last weekend as they defeated newly promoted Cadiz 1-0 after former Real Madrid winger Takefusa Kubo scored his first goal. The Japan international found the net after 24 minutes and that was all they needed to secure the three points.

Real Sociedad is missing a striker Mikel Ojarzabal who continues to recover and walk from a cruciate ligament tear Alexander Isak as captain in front.
They also lost defenders Diego Rico the third for the club with a hamstring injury last weekend Alex Sol and Carlos Hernandez also sidelined with similar problems. Aihen Munoz could replace Rico at left-back.
Otherwise, it is unlikely that coach Imanol will hack Alguacil and switch knowingly David Silva could be the key to open Barcelona at the back.

Real Sociedad have been a defensively oriented side in recent years, conceding 37 and 38 goals in the last two seasons.
However, that didn’t stop Barcelona. The Blaugrana scored five goals in the two games against La Real last season and eight between the two league games the year before, including a 6-1 away win at San Sebastian.
Look for a hungry Barcelona front line to feast on as they struggle to hit the bull’s eye and Robert Lewandowski should open his La Liga account. The Polish striker has been here before – after failing to score in his first Bundesliga game against Bayern Munich in 2014, he scored for his first Bayern goal the following week.
Given that Lewandowski made two straight league appearances in Germany last season without scoring a single goal, he’s a good bet to pick up three points for Barcelona in that game.
