Anne Heche’s son is advocating for her in hospital.

The 53-year-old actress is in a coma following a fiery crash in Los Angeles late last week, and 20-year-old Homer – who she has with ex-husband Coley Laffoon – has been taking the lead in ensuring she receives the “best care.”

A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Her family is on pins and needles, just praying.

“[Homer is] being as strong as he can be. Her family is ready to surround her, and be there if she wakes up. Everyone is waiting for that to happen.”

The update comes a day after Anne’s spokesperson confirmed the actress – who also has 13-year-old son Atlas with former partner James Tupper – has sustained a “significant pulmonary injury.”

Her representative said: “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.

“She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”

Earlier this week, the ‘Volcano’ star was said to be in a “stable condition” in hospital after crashing into a house in the neighbourhood of Mar Vista at high speed on Friday.

Local residents have been sharing their accounts of what happened, and one has recalled Anne told passers-by she “wasn’t doing real well” following the collision.

Lynne Bernstein, who lives in nearby Venice with wife Natalie, told how he and neighbours Dave and Gabriel were able to talk to the ‘Volcano’ star after she drove “almost all the way through” a house and her car “almost immediately” caught fire.

Dave was able to get into the back of the car to speak with the driver.

Lynne said: “She responded that she wasn’t doing real well.

“He actually talked to her briefly. Yeah, he asked her to raise her hand or something … if she was okay and she said she couldn’t.”

The group tried their best to free Anne from her vehicle and Lynne thinks if they had been able to do so before the fire brigade arrives “maybe she wouldn’t be suffering the way she is now.”

Noting that Gabriel tried to put out the fire while Dave tried to get Anne out, Lynne said: “We were having a hard time seeing and breathing.

“[Dave was] overcome by the smoke. So, he went to the back of the house to see if there was an alternative route, maybe we could get to her from the front of the vehicle. But the smoke, even on the backyard was pretty darn intense.”

Denise Dowse is in a coma after contracting meningitis.

The 64-year-old actress – who is best known for her 10-year stint as Yvonne Teasley on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ and as Dr. Rhonda Pyne on ‘Insecure’ – is currently in hospital and doctors do not know when she will regain consciousness, so her sister Tracey has appealed for “support and prayers.”

Tracey shared a message on her Instagram account over the weekend, which she has now added as a pinned post on Denise’s account, which reads: “Hello Family and Friends, from @dreamofthesoultd page.

“As many of you have seen, my posts have been positive and up lifting. I am trying to keep my spirits up and support those who need it. As many of you know I am a private person. So this is hard for me.

“I am requesting support and prayers be offered me and my sister, and my only immediate family @denisedowse . She is currently in the hospital in a coma brought on by a virulent form of meningitis. Her doctors do not know when she will come out of the coma as it was not medically induced.

“She is a vibrant actor and director that should have many years ahead of her. Thoughts, prayers and support are greatly appreciated. I have been reading your comments and want to acknowledge everyone’s comments. I will not be responding to your texts as I do not want you to think it is coming from her at this time.”

TMZ also spoke to Tracey on Tuesday, and she confirmed there has been no change in her sister’s condition since she wrote her original post four days ago.

Olivia Newton-John “was not afraid” of dying.

The legendary performer – who was known for starring as Sandy in 1978 smash hit movie musical ‘Grease’ opposite John Travolta and had sold more than 100 million records throughout her 50-year-career – passed away on Monday at her California ranch following a 30-year battle with cancer aged 73 and now her niece Tottie Goldsmith has claimed that she did not fear death because of how much she had already achieved.

Tottie said: “She was really skinny and really unwell and I said to her, ‘Are you afraid of dying?’ She said, ‘Plonker’, which was my nickname, she said, ‘I’m not, I’m not afraid, I’ve done more in my life than I could have ever imagined.’ She honestly never imagined her life would be how it was.”

Olivia was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and lived in remission for almost 20 years before it returned in 2013 and spread to her lower back four years later, and Tottie – who is the daughter of Olivia’s late sister Rona Newton-John – explained that she “really went down” in the last week due to “secondary infections” and a poor immune system.

She said: “It wasn’t just cancer that got her, it was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system. She got secondary infections. She really went down in the past five, six days.”

The ‘Xanadu’ actress is also survived by husband John Easterling, 70, as well as her 35-year-old-daughter Chloe, who she had from her first marriage to Matt Lattanzi, and Aussie TV star Tottie went on to explain that while she could not get to her Aunt to be with her before her death, she was able to”say everything she needed to” during a call on FaceTime.

Speaking on Australia’s ‘A Current Affair’ series, she said: “John, her husband, has kept us in the loop and I’ve been talking to the beautiful Chloe a lot. I couldn’t get to America in time and I wanted to say goodbye, so I asked him if he could hold the phone up to her ear, but he got me on Facetime so I managed to see her. I told her all the things I needed to say. She was leaving us… but I could feel like she got it.”

Fred Savage has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by six women.

The ‘Wonder Years’ star – who was fired from the reboot earlier this year after directing nine episodes of the ABC reboot – was let go after the allegations were made on set after production “started immediately” into the 46-year-old former child star-turned-executive producer’s conduct.

Two of the six of the anonymous accusers told the Hollywood Reporter about what they claim it was like to work with Fred.

One said: “To their credit, I was contacted within hours. An investigation started immediately and he was barred from set.”

The news – which broke in May – was met with a confirmation by a representative from 20th Television, who referred to “allegations of inappropriate conduct” but did not give any further detail.

Reports later circulated that the actor was “doing a lot of self-reflecting” and lauded the “overwhelming support” he was receiving from people at the sitcom – which has been renewed for a second series – prompting the accusers to speak out.

One told the same outlet: “I and the other women feel that people need to know what the wrongdoing was.”

The two women – who were not identified by the paper – believe there are two different sides to the former ‘Boy Meets World’ star.

One said: “His eyes would go dead” as he shifted from one mood to another.

According to the THR, the six women – who asked to have their identities kept secret by Disney – allege verbal harassment and an alleged assault of an ex crew member.

The other described how the higher ups would “all see his absolute perfect, best face” but saved his nastier side for “below-the-line employees who don’t have power.”

One of the alleged victims – who at the time of the alleged incident no longer worked on the show – claim that Fred followed her into the women’s restroom at a bar often frequented by the crew after work and “forcefully” kissed her and then “pulled” her hand to “his groin area.”

She said: “He was buying shots for everyone,” and then later when she went to the loo, Fred appeared.

She continued: “I started laughing, like, ‘What are you doing? This is a women’s bathroom,’” before saying he came towards her with ‘just like, dead eyes” and pushed her up against the wall.

“I said, ‘Please, don’t do this.’ I meant ruining the friendship. I was pleading, not from fear so much, but this was no going back.”

“He put his mouth on mine very forcefully. He went for the top of my pants. I brushed him away. Then he put his mouth on mine again, grabbed my hand and pulled it on his groin area. I was pulling back. He stopped very angrily. I shoulder-checked him so I could get out.”

She detailed how afterwards when Fred allegedly texted her – after he left the premises allegedly with a young female crewmember – to come to his home she “laughed it off” but was “honestly scared.”

She said: “To remain neutral I laughed it off like,’Ha ha, no, have a good night,’ because I was honestly scared of him for the first time.”

Following this, she claimed that Fred kept texting and calling her, eventually stopping until he left a voicemail message.

The message, which she shared with the Hollywood Reporter, went: “It’s your old friend Fred. We worked together for a while, and then we didn’t, and then I was a huge asshole. A huge asshole. And I’m really sorry. And I’ve kind of owed you an apology for a minute here and so, uh, the truth is I really like you and I really want to be friends, and I’m so sorry that I fucked that up.

The group assert they mainly complained about Fred’s conduct towards the young crew member’s safety but also wanted to challenge his claimed “support” for women.

They told the paper: “These men in charge know what the public is looking for and they know what words to use. “We all felt supported by Fred. We truly thought he supported women. He told us he supported women. But this kind of support isn’t real.”

In response to the allegations, Fred told the magazine: “Since I was 6 years old, I have worked on hundreds of sets with thousands of people, and have always strived to contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment. It is devastating to learn that there are co-workers who feel I have fallen short of these goals. While there are some incidents being reported that absolutely did not and could not have happened, any one person who feels hurt or offended by my actions is one person too many. I will work to address and change any behavior that has negatively affected anyone, as nothing in this world is more important to me than being a supportive co-worker, friend, husband, father and person.”

Demi Lovato is “very happy” in her new relationship.

The 29-year-old pop star – who was previously engaged to Max Ehrich for six months in 2020 and also dated ‘Camp Rock’ co-star Joe Jonas back in 2010 – has reportedly struck up a “healthy” new relationship with a musician.

A source told EOnline: “Demi is very happy and in a great place and she is in a healthy relationship with a musician boyfriend.”

The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ hitmaker previously explained that breaking up with dancer Max was the “best thing ” that had ever happened to her because she had ended up “ignoring parts of herself” throughout the relationship.

She said: “I met someone and I got into this straight relationship, and that was great. But that led me to ignoring all the parts of myself that I didn’t think were digestible for my partner at the time, who ended up becoming my fiancé. In hindsight, the dissolvement of that relationship was actually probably the best thing that’s happened to me, because of what that led inside of myself.”

News of Demi’s alleged relationship comes just weeks after the former Disney Channel star – who previously struggled with addiction and spent time in a rehabilitation clinic back in 2018 following an overdose – revealed that she “rarely” thinks about drinking alcohol and has now accepted” a lifestyle of sobriety.

She said: “I’m in such acceptance of my life the way that it is that I really rarely think about substances, which is a beautiful thing and something that I never thought would happen to me. And I just realised that none of it works for me. What’s come into my life is acceptance.

“I had people around me that wanted me to be sober. I don’t think that I wanted it. And now, I made all the bargaining choices and I realised that none of it works for me.”

Rita Ora has reportedly secretly married Taika Waititi, taken his name and flashed her gold wedding ring in Paris.

The ‘Hot Right Now’ singer, 31, and the director, 46, are said to have tied the knot at an “intimate ceremony” in London, with Rita apparently intending to go by the name Mrs Waititi-Ora.

But instead of taking time out for a honeymoon, Rita is back to recording new music in the studio.

A source told The Sun on Tuesday: “It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.

“Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn’t want to make a big song and dance about the wedding.

“A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.

“Rita’s already back in the studio working on her third album, with her latest session being with Ava Max and Noah Cyrus’ writer Rollo.”

Rita uploaded a snap of herself to Instagram on Tuesday with a huge gold band on her wedding ring finger with the caption: “Moments I forgot to share from over the weekend and some from Paris I loved and completely forgot to post! Have a good week everyone.”

Rumours started Rita and Taika were married after the ‘Thor’ was seen sporting a wedding band.

In an Instagram snap shared by Rita’s sister Elena, which appears to have been deleted, he could be seen sporting the gold jewellery on his left finger as he enjoyed a drink in the sun.

Rita meanwhile also uploaded the same shot to her Instagram – but added to the wedding rumours by covering Taika’s hand with her caption.

The image also now appears to have been erased from her feed.

It was reported in June the couple were to wed after they almost simultaneously popped the question. They were said to be planning an imminent, low-key ceremony abroad before celebrating with their celebrity friends at a huge London party later this year.

It was understood Rita, who is working on several films and ‘The Voice Australia’, and Taika, who is planning several films, hoped to tie the knot once their work commitments have wrapped up.

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s split was a “mutual decision.”

The 41-year-old star and Pete, 28, recently called time on their high-profile romance and, according to an insider, a reconciliation is thought to be unlikely.

The source shared: “It was an amicable split. They had discussed ending their relationship for a bit. It wasn’t sudden.

“And it was a mutual decision. Getting back together is not in the cards right now.”

Another source suggested that their romance had reached its natural conclusion, observing that it had been “slowing down” over recent weeks.

The insider told People: “Things heated up quickly in the beginning when he could travel back and forth to see Kim and spend time with her, but his schedule has gotten so packed.”

Kim started dating Pete shortly after she starred on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 2021.

The reality star previously revealed that she texted the comedian – who was previously engaged to Ariana Grande – after hosting the long-running TV show.

Kim – who has North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three, with her ex-husband Kanye West – shared: “So, this is how it went down with Pete. I did ‘SNL’, and then when we kissed in scene, it was just a vibe. And I was like, ‘Oh, s***. Maybe I just need to try something different!’

“But Pete does not come to my after-party – everyone was at my after-party – [he] does not give me the time of day, so a few days later, I called the producer at ‘SNL’ and was like, ‘Hey, do you have Pete’s number? And they were like, ‘Yeah.’ I text him. I wasn’t even thinking like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna be in a relationship with him.'”

The 40-year-old Grammy winner’s seventh studio album has debuted atop the Billboard Hot 200 chart in the US and has been crowned the biggest debut by a woman with 332,000 units shifted.

The ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker is the only female artist to have all her albums debut at No.1.

‘Renaissance’ is now the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day by a female artist in 2022.

Beyoncé said the record was the result of “years of experimentation” and “blood, sweat and tears”, and she can’t thank her team, collaborators, and everyone involved in the making of the much-lauded dance record, including Grace Jones, Honey Dijon, Beam, Skrillex and BloodPop, enough.

Motown legend Lamont Dozier has died, aged 81.

The songwriting genius, behind classics such as ‘Baby Love’ and ‘Two Hearts’, has passed away, his son Lamont Dozier Jr confirmed on Instagram.

He wrote alongside a picture of the pair: “Rest in Heavenly Peace, Dad!!!”

A cause of death is not known at this time.

Producer Brandon Williams led tributes to Lamont, writing: “Another man that sat down and taught me a lot about music is gone.

“The great Lamont Dozier. I’ll never forget meeting and working with him along with the Holland Brothers in 2006. Thank you for all you did for me and for the world at large. You definitely made this place better.”

Lamont was one third of the iconic songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland, who are known for co-writing huge hits for Motown acts such as The Four Tops, The Supremes and The Isley Brothers.

Their songwriting credits also include ‘Reach Out I’ll Be There’, ‘Where Did Our Love Go’ and ‘Baby I Need Your Love’.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, aka Music City, Lamont’s first foray into music was singing in the gospel choir at his local Baptist church.

He would go on to sign to Berry Gordy’s legendary Motown record label in 1962.

Lamont and siblings Eddie and Brian Holland would get their first string of hits with The Vandellas’ ‘Come and Get These Memories’ and ‘Heatwave’ in 1963.

A year later, they hit the big time with The Supremes’ mega-hit ‘Where Did Our Love Go’, their first No.1, and certainly not their last, as they went on to score a further nine chart-toppers.

In 1973, Lamont parted ways with his songwriting partners and released his own music.

The following decade, he and Phil Collins joined forces on a new rendition of ‘Two Hearts’ for the soundtrack to the 1988 film ‘Buster’.

It topped the charts and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television in 1989.

In 1990, Holland-Dozier-Holland were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Lamont’s composer credits include tracks for the likes of Kanye West, Sir Rod Stewart, Lil Wayne, and Solange, to name a few.

Tom Cruise is reportedly working on a musical, a new action film and a ‘Tropic Thunder’ spin-off.

The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star is said to be teaming up with the blockbuster sequel’s producer Christopher McQuarrie – with whom he’s collaboration with a lot in the past – on a diverse trio of upcoming projects.

As reported by Deadline, Cruise and McQuarrie are looking at plans for an original song and dance musical planned as a vehicle for the 60-year-old actor, along with a new action film with the potential to develop into a franchise.

Another idea the duo are debating revolves around Grossman, which is the studio executive Cruise cameoed as in ‘Tropic Thunder’.

According to the report, it’s not clear if the character will get his own standalone film, or if he could instead appear in either of the other projects.

The pair are collaborating on the scripts together, while there are other films in the pipeline.

The pair have been busy working on ‘Mission: Impossible 8’, and they are also teaming up with director Doug Liman on an untitled film set to shoot in outer space with NASA and SpaceX getting involved.

Universal has signed on as the studio for the project.

Cruise and McQuarrie – who transformed Ethan Hunt’s arc for 2011’s ‘Mission: Impossible = Ghost Protocol’ – have worked well together for well over a decade, and the Hollywood star has spoken fondly of the filmmaker in the past.

He previously said: “McQ understood, most definitely, not only that franchise but just a basis of storytelling, and a wide range of storytelling.

“He understands that with structure and tension, with suspense in a structure, you can have comedy, you can have drama, and so that’s where we went…

“I’ve loved my working with McQ – he and I met on ‘Valkyrie’ – and it’s just been an exceptional experience working with him.”

Taylor Swift insists she wrote all the lyrics for ‘Shake it Off’.

She made the declaration as she as addressed a 2017 copyright lawsuit that claimed she stole the words of her 2014 hit.

Writing in a federal court document filed on Monday she denied copyright infringement and claimed she had “never heard” the song she is accused of plagiarising – 2001’s ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ by the US pop trio 3LW.

Extracts of the motion obtained by Billboard said Taylor, 32, unequivocally rejected the accusation, writing “the lyrics to ‘Shake It Off’ were written entirely by me.”

She also provided context around how the words came to be included in the song.

Taylor insisted it was impossible she plagiarized the 3LW track as she “had never heard the song ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ and had never heard of that song or the group 3LW.”

She added: “The first time I ever heard the song was after this claim was made.”

Taylor added: “In writing the lyrics, I drew partly on experiences in my life and, in particular, unrelenting public scrutiny of my personal life, ‘clickbait’ reporting, public manipulation, and other forms of negative personal criticism which I learned I just needed to shake off and focus on my music.”

She argued the phrases “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” were widespread and used throughout her childhood – “akin to… sayings like ‘don’t hate the playa, hate the game,’” and “‘take a chill pill.’”

Taylor went on: “I recall hearing phrases about players play and haters hate stated together by other children while attending school in Wyomissing Hills, and in high school in Hendersonvilled.”

She highlighted how there have been numerous uses of the phrase in “many songs, films, and other works,” and referenced a 2013 performance in which she wore a T-shirt with the term “haters gonna hate.”

The lawsuit, filed by ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, was dropped in 2018, but was later resurrected by an appeals panel the following year.

In December 2021 a judge ruled the case should be decided by a jury, although an official court trial date has not yet been set.

Taylor’s lawyers are backing her claims by arguing no single entity can monopolise a term widely used in popular culture.

Her attorney Peter Anderson said: “It is, unfortunately, not unusual for a hit song to be met by litigants hoping for a windfall based on tenuous claims that their own song was copied… but even against that background, (the) Plaintiffs’ claim sticks out as particularly baseless.”

‘Shake It Off’ was the lead single from Swift’s fifth studio album, ‘1989’. 3LW, meanwhile, released ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ in 2001 as part of the girl band’s eponymous debut album.

It comes as Taylor has also defended her use of a jet after she last month topped a celebrity league table of the biggest private plane polluters.

Kevin Spacey is reportedly being sued for hundreds of thousands of pounds for “psychiatric damage” by one of the men he is accused of sexually assaulting.

The actor, 63, is due to stand trial next year to answer five charges of sexual assault against three men, dating back 17 years, while he was artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in central London.

The Daily Telegraph reported on Tuesday one of the victims has launched a civil claim in the High Court for “aggravated and exemplary” damages for multiple alleged sexual assaults.

It said: “He claims the alleged assaults caused him extensive mental problems and has submitted documentary evidence that sets out the medical help he says he has required in the intervening years.

“The civil claim relates to the criminal charges of sexual assault on a man, now in his 30s, and of causing him to engage in penetrative sexual activity without his consent in August 2008.”

Spacey – who led the Old Vic between 2004 and 2015 – travelled to London in June to enter not guilty pleas to all five charges.

The ‘House of Cards’ Oscar-winner has vowed to clear his name and was granted unconditional bail. He faces a three to four-week trial at either the Old Bailey or Southwark Crown Court starting on June 6. The High Court proceedings are likely to take place afterwards.

Spacey’s legal team from Carter Ruck said: “Kevin Spacey was already aware of these allegations, which relate to pre-existing allegations which are the subject of the criminal proceedings in which Mr Spacey has pleaded not guilty. The civil claim will also be defended.”

Documents filed to the Queen’s Bench Division on June 14 said: “The assault and the psychiatric damage were caused to the claimant by the intentional assault by the defendant.

“The claimant claims damages for personal injury expected to exceed £300,000.”

Aggravated damages are intended to reflect the manner of a wrong committed by a defendant – or the defendant’s subsequent conduct.

The charges against Spacey lodged in May include two counts of sexual assault on a man, now in his 40s, in March 2005 in London, as well as sexual assault on a man, now in his 30s, and causing him to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, in August 2008 in London.

There is also a charge of sexual assault on a man, now in his 30s, in April 2013 in Gloucestershire.

Spacey’s lawyers have said he “strenuously denies any and all criminality in this case.”

Meanwhile, Spacey has been ordered by a judge in Los Angeles to pay $31million to cover the cost of removing him from Netflix’s ‘House of Cards’ after sexual misconduct allegations.
