Shiba Inu’s new Shiba Eternity Card game launches on October 6th, 2022 for iOS and Android users worldwide.
The SHIB community will publication the associated game story on October 1, 2022.
The new game, which features Japanese martial arts, grants players their very own Shiboshi, a virtual canine warrior that they must protect. Each round, players pick up either fighter cards or weapon cards. Weapon Cards like Katana Slice and Ancient Instinct allow Shiboshi to attack, while Fighter Cards feature characters with unique abilities that fight for the Shiboshi. Cards can be arranged in order to perform a coordinated attack.
SHIB developer Shytoshi Kusama said on Twitter that he’s been playing the game “for a while” and enjoying it.
The game was released in Australia on September 19, 2022. Shortly after, the SHIB team hosted a Twitter Spaces event on September 22, 2022 to update the community.
Shiba Eternity basic gameplay
Upon first launch, players are guided by a “sensei” translated as “teacher” named Ryoshi, who guides them through an initial task. This quest allows them to get acquainted with the game mechanics.
According to Sensei, shiboshis were created to allow shibs to fight without violence.
Each Shiboshi will have the opportunity to come into contact with “PURE FOMO” to unlock certain skills. Each PURE FOMO transformation will lead to a unique result. Shiboshis also have dormant properties that must be awakened to unleash a range of powers.
Shiboshis will be able to train in various martial arts disciplines such as “Chewjitsu,” giving them access to cards with different play abilities and styles.
When the player gains enough experience, he will face the Sensei in battle.
According to Kusama, 5% of all winnings from the game are burned.
No Shiba Eternity tokenomics information
It’s unclear if the game will be a play-to-earn game in the mold of Axie Infinity. At press time, there was no official documentation, leading some on crypto-Twitter to believe that Shiba Eternity is just a marketing gimmick.
Others say the game is a marketing ploy to divert attention from the promised launch of Shibarium’s Layer 2 solution. Among other things, Shibarium will offer lower gas fees than Ethereum, the blockchain that the SHIB token currently lives on.
A SHIB metaverse is also in the works.
SHIB, the community’s native token, is the second largest memecoin in the world by market cap. According to Coingecko, SHIB is up 1.7% over the past 24 hours to $0.00001120.
