TULSA, Okla. — Steven Snyder, Jr. put an exclamation mark on Saturday’s 50-lap Milestone Home Service Co. Outlaw Sprint Nationals at Port City Raceway.

After recovering from 15th place to win Friday night’s preliminary game, Snyder Jr. fought his way past Brian Carber in the first half of Saturday night’s finals, weaving through traffic much of the way to take the share $10,000 Winner Aboard EVO+ Fuel Injection No. 21 Hyper Outlaw microsprint to secure.

While the Rising Sun, Md. racer left Tulsa on the big payday, Jett Nunley of Marlow and Braxton Flatt of Monmouth, Illinois won the accompanying Restricted “A” Class and Junior Sprint Features, respectively.

While Snyder Jr. led the feature field to the green flag on Friday night’s win, it was Carber, starting outside the front row, who shot into the early lead.

Snyder Jr. kept up the pressure, slipping briefly past Carber in traffic on lap 16, only to let Carber be in charge again the next time around.

Snyder, Jr. fought his way back into the lead shortly after a restart on lap 21 and then survived two stoppages with 15 laps to go to secure the outstanding win.

Eighth starter Jeffrey Newell fought his way through the closing laps to second place while Carber settled for show honors.

Jake Hagopian was fourth, Matthew Howard rounded out the top 5 while 19th starter Garrett Benson, Colby Sokol, Chris Cochran, Cole Roberts and Jett Yantis completed the top 10.

Cody Key fought between the top trio for most of the time before spinning at turn four after 35 laps and setting the stage for Cole Schroeder’s turn four crash on the ensuing restart. The only other caution in the race came after 21 laps when Frank Flud spun at turn two before later exiting into the infield.

Saturday night’s Milestone Home Service Co. Outlaw Nationals drew a field of 83 entries in the outlaw class.
