Splatoon 3 Locker guide: How to get decorations and customize your space
Since the release of Splatoon on Wii U, fans have been asking for homes to decorate in the fresh ’90s style the series is known for. Although not quite as big, players had the opportunity to decorate lockers. Here’s everything you need to know about where to find your locker, how to upgrade it, and where to find decorations to jazz it up with.
What are lockers?
Lockers are a new feature introduced in Splatoon 3. Players can decorate lockers with stickers, posters, weapons, gear, and decorations ranging from stuffed animals to comics.
Once you reach level 4 you can visit the General Store operated by Harmony. She will give you a catalog and access to the changing room in the lobby. While it initially looks like a black wall, once you approach it, you will be prompted to enter it. The dressing room is in the online multiplayer lobby, to the left of the shellout machine and cafeteria, where you can buy food to quickly level up.
Your locker will be denoted by a white triangle above it, just opposite the entrance to the room. It costs nothing to decorate and you can change the look of your locker as many times as you like. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your style!
How to decorate your locker
You can decorate your locker to your heart’s content and exercise your creative abilities. How to decorate your locker:

Where do you get decorations?
When you first get a locker, only your current weapon and the clothes on your back are available to you. Don’t worry, because there’s a whole plethora of things you can do to add some pizzazz to your locker. As you progress through the game, all the gear and weapons you get can be used to decorate your locker, but there are other items called decorations that are made specifically for lockers.
Here are the different ways you can get new decorations for your specific locker area:
Hotlantis
Hotlantis is the new general store run by Harmony. After you reach level 4, she will give you a catalog and the ability to purchase items. She sells stickers and posters that you can use to decorate the inside and outside of your locker, as well as larger decorations that can be placed inside. Their stock changes every day, so keep coming back!
Catalog
After getting Harmony’s catalog, you’ll earn points for leveling up by participating in online multiplayer matches like Turf War and Salmon Run. As you level up your locker, you’ll receive prizes from Harmony, including stickers and decorations.
The catalogs come out every few months and each time they contain brand new items to collect. Make sure you play online often to get as many rewards as possible!
alternative
The single player campaign called Hero Mode takes place in a foreign land called Alterna. As you explore the area, you’ll encounter huge plumes of fluffy mud that will turn anyone who touches them into a fuzzball. Your little pal, a salmon fish named Smallfry, LOVES to eat this mud provided you provide it with enough Power Eggs you collect along the way. Eliminating Fuzzy Ooze areas can reveal secrets, some of which are decorations and stickers.
shellout machine
The shellout machine is a gacha machine located to the right of the locker room. Every day you get a cheap game for 5,500 coins, each additional game costs 30,000 coins. This machine will give you a random selection of items, from banners for your splash tag to food stamps and decorations. While this isn’t a reliable means of unlocking items, it’s a nice touch to add to your daily routine in Splatoon 3.
How to upgrade your locker
If you’re unhappy with how little space you have to stuff all your decorations in, fret not! Once you reach level 15 you will unlock the ability to use larger lockers. Not only do you have more space for your items, but you also have more color options for your locker. It’s nice to be able to work towards these upgrades that continue to encourage people to play one of the best Nintendo Switch games.
Locker, sweet locker
While not an integral part of the Splatoon 3 experience, Lockers are a fun little side project for players to work on between games. If you love customizing and decorating, this feature alone can steal hours of your time.
