Sporting Kansas City and NFL FLAG announce partnership at Central Bank Sporting Complex

Sporting Kansas City and MO-KAN NFL FLAG, the NFL’s official youth football program, have formed a partnership that will bring year-round NFL Flag Youth Leagues to the Central Bank Sporting Complex in Platte County, Missouri, beginning this September.

“We are excited to announce our partnership with the MO-KAN NFL FLAG and can’t wait to host their boys’ and girls’ flag football leagues at the new complex next month,” said Dan Popik, Sporting KC Vice President of Youth Business Development. “This will be a special season for MO-KAN NFL FLAG as they launch their first-ever All-Girls league in Kansas City this fall at the Central Bank Sporting Complex.”

The Central Bank Sporting Complex will open to the public in early September. Upon completion, the facility will feature 10 world-class multisport turf fields that can be converted into eight fields for baseball and softball games. All fields are lighted with convenient parking and onsite amenities including playgrounds, field house, restrooms and concessions.

“We are extremely excited to bring NFL FLAG Football to Sporting Kansas City’s new facility, the Central Bank Sporting Complex. Just minutes from the Zona Rosa, this premier facility will be the home of MO-KAN NFL FLAG in Platte County for years to come,” said Frank Cammisano, Director of MO-KAN NFL Flag. “Our goal is to provide the youth of Kansas City with a platform where they can make lifelong memories and learn life lessons through the game of football.”

NFL FLAG is contactless and gives boys and girls of all ability levels, from kindergarten through 8th grade, the opportunity to develop their fundamental football skills in a safe, positive and inclusive environment. This program is a route for female athletes to play in college and an outlet for tackle athletes to compete in the off-season. As NFL FLAG grows, one thing stays the same: it’s a place where every kid can play football.

The upcoming fall season consists of a 7-week, 6-game season, including playoffs and a Super Bowl for the top teams in each division. All players receive a premium NFL FLAG game day experience and officially licensed NFL team gear. MO-KAN NFL FLAG will host practice and games on Saturday afternoons, allowing the program to harmonize well with other sports and busy schedules.
