Sporting KC vs. Sounders, live stream: Game time, TV schedule and lineups

Trips to Sporting KC have been a bit of a mixed bag for the Seattle Sounders. In the early years, they seemed to be a constant source of positive drama. The Sounders went 4-0-0 in their first four visits of the regular season. Since then, however, they have only won once with a 1-4-2.

The Sounders will start out a bit short-handed as they are missing six players who are on international duty. Three of those players – Alex Roldan, Nouhou and Raúl Ruidíaz – would likely have been in the starting XI.

Sporting KC are just one player short of international duty but may be without all three designated players who have missed the first four games through injury. Alan Pulido and Johnny Russell – who has scored six career goals in nine career appearances against the Sounders – have both been upgraded to questionable and have reportedly attended practice this week.

Their absence at least partly explains why Sporting KC are yet to win 0-2-2, albeit with three of those games away.

  • Sporting KC have made their worst four-game start since going pointless in 1999. However, only one of those games was at home and they are going on a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1).
  • The Sounders have not won away since July 4, a 10-game stretch in which they have gone 0-9-1. This is her longest winning streak of all time and her five-game losing streak is the second-longest of all time. All nine of those losses were by a goal, they’ve led in four of those games and they’ve given up the deciding goal in injury time three times.
  • Sporting KC leads MLS in shots (69), but 36 of those came from outside the 18-yard box. Only Minnesota United have attempted a higher percentage of their shots from outside the box.
