Street Fighter 6 closed beta release time, date, how to get code access

That Street Fighter 6 closed beta starts this week and gives players their first hands-on look at the game.

Access to the Street Fighter 6 closed beta is technically free, but as the name suggests, you’ll have to jump through a few hoops to gain access.

Once you’ve done that, there are a handful of modes to enjoy, as well as cross-play – giving you a healthy taste of the game before you start.

Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta release time in UK / BST, CEST, EDT and PDT

Street Fighter 6 closed beta is available from Friday 7th October to Monday 10th October. Here are the release times:

  • UNITED KINGDOM: 8 a.m. (BST)
  • Europe: 9 a.m. (CEST)
  • US East Coast: 3 a.m. (EDT)
  • US West Coast: 00:00 (PDT)

Note that the closed beta will be going offline at the same times listed above – Monday 10th October.

How to access the Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta and receive a code

To access the Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta, You must register on the official website by September 30th. If you didn’t do this in time, then unfortunately you missed out!

The registration process up to this period included the following; Go to the Street Fighter 6 official website and select “Apply for Closed Beta”. To do this, you need a Capcom ID – essentially a Capcom account, which you can get from this link – and once you entered that, you were set up.

If you’ve signed up and been successful – there’s no guarantee every sign-up will get a code – then you will receive a code to your assigned email address on Wednesday October 5th. It will come from an ‘@cid.capcom.com’ address – so be sure to check your spam folder if it’s not in your regular inbox.

Capcom has also said codes could be slightly delayed for some players – so be patient and hope one arrives shortly.

If you missed it, as the full release is still a while away, more beta testing may be to come.

Final note – to access the closed beta you will need either a PS5, Xbox Series X|S or a PC. Unfortunately no availability for Xbox One or PS4!

Series favorites Ryu and Ken will be playable in the beta.

In addition to the modes listed above, you’ll also find different types of controls to try, different comment settings, online battle request features, battle tutorials, battle settings, and a photo mode.

And if you’re wondering, yes, you’re allowed to upload street footage from the beta test to your various channels and feeds.

Finally, Capcom teased that “everyone selected for the closed beta test will receive a special in-game title as a gift.” We don’t know what that is – but it will be available to players with the full game release on day one.
