WWith stunning turquoise waters and powdered-sugar-like white sands, the islands of Turks & Caicos are about as postcard-perfect as beach destinations.

This archipelago of 40 islands in the Atlantic Ocean is brimming with ways to relax and unwind, whether you want to sip cocktails on the beach and read a book, or hit the more adventurous side with a private boat tour to some beautiful uninhabited islands for snorkeling and swimming (see Contact Okeanos Charters for a spectacular luxury boating experience). Hungry? The island offers plenty of sensational dining, from local bites to exceptional fine dining. Bottom Line: Turks & Caicos has something for everyone.

Let this guide guide you in choosing the ultimate digs in Turks & Caicos, no matter what type of holiday vibe you’re after.

The best boutique hotel: Rock House

rock house

Who will love: jet setter privacy seekers; modern connoisseurs

All Star Amenities: Oversized suites with private infinity pools; free clear paddle boards; Champagne and chocolate chip cookies upon check-in

What you should not miss: A sunset drink at the Cave Bar; Lemon spaghetti with Caribbean lobster at Vita

One of the newest properties on the main island of Providenciales, Rock House is a modern, boutique take on the many traditional properties currently found on famed Grace Bay Beach. The fact that it’s off the main drag of most chain hotels gives this unique property a sense of privacy, making it a great choice for travelers wanting more relaxation and fewer crowds. 46 luxurious accommodations (ranging from poolside studios to spacious two-bedroom suites) offer expansive ocean views, plus suites come with their own private plunge pools, but no matter where you are on the property, you’ll feel like you’ve got it to have it all to yourself.

If you ever want to venture outside the walls of your hotel room, a beautiful pool awaits, perched over the ocean and offering an unobtrusive place to take a dip and finally read that novel that’s gathering dust on your bedside table. The food here doesn’t disappoint either — the fine dining restaurant Vita offers traditional Italian fare with Caribbean influences, like lemon spaghetti with lobster, a delicious yet fresh and flavorful treat. Poolside service is divine – don’t miss the Highway To Hell cocktail, a Caribbean twist on the traditional margarita.

The Ritz-Carlton Turks & Caicos has one of the best hotel locations you will find in Providenciales, right on beautiful Grace Bay Beach and close to many of the island’s great restaurants and activities. But whether you want to leave the property while you’re even there will be the biggest dilemma. After all, the Ritz has everything you need and more right at your fingertips, from perfectly appointed ocean-view hotel rooms and suites with luxurious linens (the beds here offer a great night’s sleep) to several restaurants and even a luxury casino , which is just a few steps away from the lobby.

Indulge in breakfast at the oceanfront Coralli restaurant, a burger at the pool bar, a fine steak dinner at BLT and more. Then spend your days shedding those calories with a stroll along Grace Bay Beach. Kids will love the Ritz Kids Club, which offers a variety of daily activities from sports to arts and crafts. About Kim Peiffer, your Turks & Caicos Guide

I’ve been involved with travel for almost two decades, from reviewing luxury hotels to visiting remote places around the world. I’m always looking for a new ski resort, a secluded beach, and a great cocktail (and the perfect place to sip that cocktail, of course). Even when I’m on vacation, I’m always looking for adventure, whether it’s aerial acrobatics in a fighter jet over the desert or heli-skiing on a glacier in Italy. Turks & Caicos is one of my favorite islands in the world to visit again and again and I have personally visited every hotel on this list. As Executive Editor of Forbes Vetted, I oversee our travel and hotel coverage. I also wrote for Fashion, Robb report, Travel + Leisure, InStyle, GQ, DuJour, oprah and many others.
