Earlier this week, a Twitter user sought netizens’ help to figure out a stranger she spotted at a coffee shop and was instantly attracted to, but unable to get close to. In a now viral (and possibly scripted) tweet, a Twitter user shared a secretly taken photo of the mystery guy.

Manjari (@manjaribinnani) wrote: “I’m looking for this guy who ordered pasta at an Aerocity cafe around 1pm today. He was quite ripped, wore a black shirt and had beautiful eyes…wanted to talk to him but missed because my cab driver kept calling me. Twitter, do your thing and help me find him.”

Luckily for her, the guy in the photo, now identified as Sumit Talwar (@Sumittalwarr), found her tweet. Talwar wrote: “I remember seeing you!! Nice to meet you here. Ik, that’s taken out of context, but secretly I’m glad you tweeted this.

That sounds like a healthy story, but some netizens pointed out that @Sumittalwarr had previously liked some of @manjaribinnani’s tweets. This casts a shadow over the authenticity of this digital coincidence, but nonetheless sparked a series of tweets in which netizens jokingly photoshopped the “Aerocity guy” in front of absurd backdrops to claim he’d been “discovered.”

Many people took the original tweet and made similar requests to find their own soulmate through the power of social media.

While sharing a photo of popular social media personality Puneet Kumar (Puneet Superstar), one Twitter user wrote: “Looking for this guy who was making videos around Connaught Place. He was quite ripped, wore a black shirt and had beautiful eyes…wanted to talk to him but missed because my cab driver kept calling me. Twitter, do your thing and help me find him.”

Another person shared a still from Shah Rukh Khan from his movie Dil Se and wrote: “Looking for this guy stranded at Haflong train station. He was a bit sad, was wearing a red jacket and had beautiful teary eyes, wanted to talk to him but missed the train that was leaving while he was getting tea! Twitter do your thing and help me find him.”
