The Cycle: Frontier – How to Split Items

Inspired by inventory systems like fallout, The cycle: limit rewards cautious players who plan ahead – nothing in a player’s inventory is safe on the harsh planet, and while players can try to “insure” their belongings to make death a little less punishing, it’s still better to go with travel light and pack no more than necessary. The free-to-play game pits players against AI enemies and fellow humans, and as anyone who’s played a video game with other people can tell you, they’re not to be trusted.

In order for players to become masters of resource management and ensure they travel light, it is important to learn how to “share” items. This guide will walk players through the process of organizing, dividing, and packing items before their expeditions to Fortuna III.

Why share articles?

It might seem like a useless mechanic at first – why would not you want to bring Everyone the ammunition Everyone the time? However, when players start looting and quickly find that their inventories are full/overloaded, it becomes clear that proper inventory management is important.

That’s what item splitting is for. A full stack of ammo is useful, but 25 pounds of medium ammo could be better spent healing items, and newer players will need to do a few successful extractions before having the resources to unlock the extra storage space a larger backpack offers.

The final reason for splitting up items is to make sure they can enter The cycle: limit‘s “safe pockets” feature – even if the player dies, nothing in their “safe pockets” is lost. The downside is that the bags can only hold three items, which can weigh a maximum of five pounds. A whole stack of precious metals won’t fit in, but splitting the stack keeps some with the player.

How to split articles

A feature available in both the Hub and Fortuna III that allows item splitting Hold down Shift and left-click the desired batch of items. By default, the game tries to split the stack into two equal halves; Players can increase or decrease the severity of the split at will. It is also possible to change the pitch without long-clicking and holding the arrows. Just click on any part of the bar and the division will quickly jump to represent a number that would match that part of the bar.

organization of inventory

It’s tempting to leave the inventory screen as shown in the image above, but a properly organized inventory can save players a great deal of time and hassle while preparing for expeditions.

A quick way for players to find what they’re looking for is to use the filters on the left side of the inventory screen – they can quickly hide the excess items to only show utilities, weapons, consumables, and more. It’s also possible to press X while viewing the unfiltered inventory to sort by rarity, alphabetical order, and item type. Once players have found their desired items, they can right-click on the items to send them to their backpack, which acts as a smaller inventory that players take with them to the planet below.

To remove items from inventory (a very satisfying process after returning from a successful extraction), players simply need to right-click on items in their backpack to send them to their inventory ready for sale.
