Timeline for Jake Paul vs. KSI winner-take-all fight at Wembley after Swarmz replaces Alex Wassabi on 2022 YouTuber boxing card

After years of waiting, the stars are finally lining up for a YouTube boxing match for the ages. By early 2023, Jake Paul and KSI could settle their in-ring rivalry.

The two influencers have been back and forth on Twitter for some time. Things took a turn recently when Paul’s fight against Hasim Rahman Jr. at Madison Square Garden was canceled. It was announced last weekend that KSI’s August 27 opponent, Alex Wassabi, had to resign due to a concussion. Now KSI will host the main event of the DAZN produced PPV at the O2 Arena against rapper Swarmz.

Will Jake Paul and KSI fight each other?

After the Wassabi news, the two talked about a fight against each other. Paul said that he would fight KSI before the Swarmz announcement. He was also told by the KSI team that the only condition to a fight was that he would compete for free. Paul was ready to fight at 180 pounds. KSI stated that he already had a backup opponent and that a fight between the two would take place on his terms.

On Monday morning (8/8), KSI presented Paul with a challenge: “I will send you a contract. We fight next year. Wembley Stadium. The winner of the fight takes everything. 100% of the wallet will be at stake. Put your money where your mouth is and let’s finally end this. Will you agree?”

Paul responded by agreeing to fight in the UK, but only if KSI admits he’s better at boxing. KSI responded quickly and agreed with Paul. Then he set the challenge. The fight appears to take place in 2023.

Rivalry between Jake Paul and KSI

KSI began his amateur boxing career in 2018, beating fellow YouTuber Joe Weller via TKO. After the fight, he called out Jake and his brother Logan to a fight. Jake should face KSI. He ended up posting tweets mocking KSI after the call. The two also created YouTube videos, each reaching millions of people. Jake’s video about KSI challenging him has over 5 million views while KSI’s video calling out Paul has over 2 million views.

Logan would fight KSI instead.

Before the 2018 amateur fight, KSI and his brother Deji taunted the Paul brothers and defaced their cars. At the Manchester Arena, Jake beat Deji while KSI and Logan battled to a majority decision tie. Not long after, Matchroom Boxing picked up the rivalry between KSI and Logan Paul, and the two main events featured a boxing card at Staples Center. KSI would beat Paul by split decision.

Since then, the two have gone their separate ways. Paul has a pro record of 5-0, beating AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. KSI confronted Paul after the AnEsonGib fight. “The Problem Child” was to face his toughest opponent yet in Rahman. When that fight was scrapped, KSI mocked Paul, stating that low ticket sales were one of the reasons it was cancelled.

Rahman was a backup opponent as Paul was scheduled to face Tommy Fury within MSG. For the second time in a few months, this fight was canceled. Slated to fight Austin McBroom at some point, KSI was willing to face Alex Wassabi before retiring.

Paul will be keeping a close eye on the fight between KSI and Swarmz.
