Transport Canada Just Recalled A LOT Of Cars & Here’s How To Know If You’re Impacted

Transport Canada has recalled a number of vehicle manufacturers including KIA, Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan and many more for a variety of reasons that pose some pretty serious safety risks.

From problems with faulty brakes and passenger airbags, short circuits to seatbelt buckle problems and possible oil leaks, the federal agency is warning the public to check to see if their cars are affected and what the next steps are to take to fix it/ the problems).

Here is a full list of all affected vehicles that have been tagged by Transport Canada:

FORD

Recalled vehicles:

  • Ford Ranger 2022
  • Ford Explorer 2022

Reason for the recall: According to Transport Canada, the fuel line connections between the fuel pump and fuel rail may not have been tightened. This could result in fuel leakage and there is a risk of fire.

Reason for the recall: A problem with the instrument panel cover may prevent the passenger front airbag from inflating properly in a crash.

Reason for recall: Transport Canada has marked certain models with 37″ tires that may not have been properly torqued. This could cause the wheel to detach from the vehicle.

Reason for the recall: Moisture can penetrate the brake hydraulics and cause a short circuit. This can create a fire hazard even when the vehicle is parked.

Recalled vehicle: 2022 Nissan Kicks

Reason for the recall: On certain vehicles, a problem with the torque sensor in the electric power steering system may result in a loss of power steering assist. This can ultimately lead to a sudden increase in steering and the risk of an accident.

Corrective actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and direct them to take your vehicle to a dealer to check the batch code on the steering column torque sensor, Transport Canada says.

Reason for recall: A part of the trunk release could fail. In this case, the emergency trunk release located in the trunk may not work properly, preventing a person trapped in the trunk from opening it, according to Transport Canada.

corrective actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to have the trunk latch replaced.

Reason for recall: A software issue could result in the top view camera being displayed instead of the rear camera image when reversing.
