Tresor Orange1 names trio of Audi Sport factory drivers for 2023 Fanatec GT Europe assault

Tresor Orange1 has confirmed a trio of Audi factory drivers for its 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS program.

The team is a collaboration between Tresor Competition and Orange1 Holding and will field a Pro class competitor in both the Sprint and Endurance Cups. Technical management will be handled by Fanatec GT trainer Attempto Racing, while other crews will also run under the Tresor Attempto Racing banner.

In the Endurance Cup, the #40 Tresor Orange1 Audi will be driven by Mattia Drudi, Ricardo Feller and Dennis Marschall. Drudi previously raced for Attempto Racing and was part of the Tresor by Car Collection partnership that started last season.

Marshal also knows Attempto Racing well, having raced with Arkin Aka’s team for the entire 2022 season. Feller, meanwhile, joined Attempto for last season’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and was previously the 2021 Silver Cup Standout Driver of the Year in an Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini. Drudi and Feller will join forces in the rounds of the Fanatec GT Sprint Cup and form one of the strongest teams in the short series.

“We are delighted to announce the partnership with Orange1 Holding, which aims to play a leading role in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup, a series we debuted in last year, and are now motivated to improve on the positive results achieved in our debut season,” said team boss Ferdinando Geri.

“Thanks to Attempto Racing GmbH’s expertise in handling the car and the great talent of all three drivers, I am sure that we will achieve great things. Orange1 has a long racing heritage that we share and a great ability to differentiate. We had two days of testing ahead of us at Paul Ricard and the data collected was very positive, allowing us to approach the Monza race with the right level of ambition.”

Armando Donazzan, President of Orange1 Holding, added: “After seven years of partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, with whom we have won many titles, we have decided to join Audi Sport and Tresor Competition for the next few years.

“This decision is the result of a careful analysis of multiple options. We believe this new collaboration is the best and will allow us to continue the incredible results we have achieved so far. That’s our goal because it’s part of our DNA. Participation is important, but we always aim to stay at the forefront of history.”

The 2023 season of Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS kicks off with an Endurance Cup race at Monza on April 21-23. The Sprint campaign begins May 13-14 at Brands Hatch, while the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa marquee is scheduled for June 29-July 2.
