Tucker Carlson latest: New texts reveal Carlson ‘hates’ Trump as McConnell, Schumer slam Fox host over Jan 6

Chuck Schumer calls Tucker Carlson’s January 6 release of footage ‘shameful’

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson told a colleague that he “passionately hates” Donald Trump, according to new text messages released as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the network.

New court filings on Tuesday revealed a message Carlson sent to a Fox News staffer just two days before the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

“We’re very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I can’t wait,” he wrote.

“I hate him passionately, I blew up Peter Navarro in frustration today. Actually I like Peter. But I can’t handle it anymore.”

The lyrics came to light on the same day that both Democratic and Republican lawmakers slammed Carlson for sharing edited footage of the Capitol riots on his show — falsely claiming it showed the riots as a peaceful gathering surrounded by ” Sightseers” is cited.

Tucker Carlson revives false election claims

Days after court filings revealed Fox News figures and executives privately dismissed false claims related to the 2020 presidential election, one of the network’s most-watched stars spoke out about its legitimacy and appeared to defend hundreds of rioters rampaging through the halls of Congress.

In a March 6 post that attempted to downplay the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, Tucker Carlson said the rioters were “right” in believing the election was “unfairly conducted.” .

Carlson offered nothing new from the January 6 tapes

Tucker Carlson spent that evening’s show attacking his critics but offered little new information, my colleague writes Andrew Feinberg in Washington D.C.

As Carlson discussed the “cascade” of Republican congressmen who objected to his segment last night, Carlson accused them of telling “blatant lies” and “demanding censorship.”

“They’re on the same page,” Carlson claimed. “It’s not really about left and right. It’s not about Republicans and Democrats…the people who have everything in common under everything are all aligned against everyone else.”

But the Jan. 6 footage itself contained nothing new, Andrew says, just the interview with former Capitol Police Officer Tarik Khlaid Johnson that we reported earlier.
