The Utes maintained 67% of their performance from last season despite the coaching change, with quarterback Cameron Rising, running back Tavion Thomas and defensive back Clark Phillips III highlighting the returning talent.
Rising has held its place among the top quarterbacks in the Pac-12 since its acquisition in 2021, and is also successful as a two-threat option. The former Texas transfer has thrown for 1,153 yards and 13 touchdowns with two interceptions with a 68.3% completion and a 166.0 passer rating. Rising rushed for 189 yards and a touchdown, adding to Thomas’s 295 yards and four points.
