Sydney Country Living Terrey Hills’ Taylor Snell said since the pandemic began, more buyers have been interested in having sports gear as part of their lifestyle properties.

He had also noticed an increase in buyers in the city looking for fully furnished retreats as second homes.

“They really want a little resort where they can spend their weekend and be entertained,” he said.

More modest homes with bespoke sports facilities have also emerged, including apartments with shared putting greens.

Those looking for the ultimate tree-changing retreat should look no further than this sports haven just 20 minutes southwest of Coffs Harbour.

The property has a large swimming pool and spa as well as a one bedroom studio in addition to the four bedroom house and parents’ retreat.

But it also has a large tennis court with competitive lighting that doubles as a basketball court, and an in-ground trampoline.

This property in Ingleside was the training ground for a first class cricketer and a professional rugby player.

Sydney Country Living Terrey Hills sales representative Taylor Snell said the owners had converted the existing two-bedroom house into a five-bedroom sports retreat for their sporting sons, one of whom went on to play NSW Second XI in the UK and another previously played professional rugby To become the head coach of the Toronto Arrows.

The 2.23ha property includes a putting green, cricket pitch with bat nets, rugby goal posts and a 10m in ground pool.

It also has a creek-fed waterfall and billabong, and a fully fenced dog park.

60 Grandview Street, Shelly Beach

For those who love golf but dislike lawn care, this home has direct access to the putting green of an 18-hole golf course – through its own golf buggy garage.

Agent Chris Lamont of Brand Real Estate – The Entrance said this inclusion was seen as a must when the home was built.

“You can drive straight from the track to the warehouse,” he says.

This Earlwood mansion caused quite a stir in the Inner West when it went up for sale in 2021.

The property was sold for just over $4 million at auction by Jim Nikolopoulos of Cobden and Hayson and James Cowan of Colliers after it was put up for sale on the orders of a bankruptcy trustee.

Nautilus, Burraneer

Possibly the most epic home in the country, this six-story Burraneer mansion owned by entrepreneur Steve Shelley features seven bedrooms, six kitchens, 19 bathrooms, a theater, a wine tasting room, and a “bat cave” tunnel that leads to a private beach .

147 Robey Street, Maroubra

This Maroubra home has some pretty luxe inclusions, like a home theater and a butler’s pantry.

The most outstanding feature of the house, however, is the putting green in the backyard, where owners Gemma Dooley and Warwick Boys hone their golf skills several times a week.

Mr Boys said the putting green is a major attraction for guests.

“One of the main advantages of a putting green is that it doesn’t require too much maintenance or mowing. You could leave the property for three months, go on holiday, come back and everything would be the same,” Mr Boys said.

The home was listed for sale by Ray White Woolahara last year with a guide price of $3.95 million.

27 Coronation Rd, Wentworth Falls

This Blue Mountain home also has a putting green—but this one has a view.

Wentworth Falls House on Coronation Rd looks out over the Jamison Valley to Mount Solitary and The Three Sisters from its putting green and in-ground spa, making the choice between exercise and relaxation difficult.

The Lordship, Parramatta

Those who can’t afford a multi-million dollar home shouldn’t despair – this Parramatta apartment offers a shared putting green for a fraction of the price.

On the top floor of The Dominion security complex near the train station, the one bedroom apartment is listed with a guide price of US$439,000.
