USA vs. Austria: Live score, highlights, updates from 2022 World Juniors

After successful first two games at the World Juniors 2022, the United States will be looking for three wins when Team USA take on Austria on Saturday afternoon.

The Americans beat Switzerland 7-1 on Thursday. While Switzerland made the first very competitive, their legs gave out in the second and the USA scored five goals in midframe to help them win.

Thomas Bordeleau, Landon Slaggert and Carter Mazur’s topline buzzed all night. Mazur, who clinched the Player of the Match award, recorded two goals and one assist, Bordeleau had one goal and two assists and Slaggert added one goal and one assist.

Kaiden Mbereko secured his second tournament win as the United States improved to 2-0-0-0 in Group B.

Austria suffered their second defeat against the World Juniors, yesterday they lost 6-0 to Sweden.

Logan Cooley Chaser

For the duel against Austria we focus on Logan Cooley. The University of Minnesota Commitment was selected #3 by the Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft. He has scored and assisted in the first two games of the tournament.

Cooley is a responsible two-way center with a high offensive advantage. His exceptional speed and ability to move the puck efficiently and quickly made him one of the top scorers for the US National Team Development Program last season.
