Western Kentucky vs. Austin Peay live stream online, prediction, channel, how to watch on CBS Sports Network

The college football season is finally here, and Saturday’s Week 0 chalkboard brings a good taste of what lies ahead in the 2022 campaign. Of the Football Bowl Subdivision teams’ 11 Week 0 games, four will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network in an all-day televised experience that will last through Sunday morning for viewers in some time zones.

The action begins at 12 p.m. ET when the FBS season kicks off in Bowling Green, Kentucky as Western Kentucky host Austin Peay. Then, UNLV kicks off Year 3 of the Marcus Arroyo era by hosting Idaho State at 3:30 p.m. before the evening list brings two showdowns between FBS and FBS.

Charlotte and Florida Atlantic, the US conference teams, waste no time getting the league game going as the two go head-to-head at 7:00 p.m. in Boca Raton in a battle of teams trying to break away from the 5th through 7th seasons to recover. Finally, the nightcap pits an SEC team against a program in transition as Vanderbilt plays Hawaii at 10:30 p.m. The Commodores hope they’ve shaken off jet lag from a long flight as they take on a team from the Rainbow Warriors, playing their first game under great new coach and program leader Timmy Chang

Here’s the full rundown of all Week 0 action on CBS Sports Network. All times Easter.

Storylines: After a season of prolific offensive production, Western Kentucky is restarting again due to the departure of quarterback Bailey Zappe and offensive coordinator Zach Kittley. This will be the first look at West Florida transfer quarterback Austin Reed, who posted flashy numbers at the Division II level but now faces a definite uptick in the competition. Coming off a 6-5 season, Austin Peay is joining the Atlantic Sun this season from the Ohio Valley Conference

State of Idaho at UNLV

Date: Saturday 27 August | Time: 3:30 p.m
Location: Allegiant Stadium – Las Vegas, Nevada
TV: CBS sports network [Channel finder]
Live broadcast: | Cell phone, mobile phone: CBS Sports App

Storylines: UNLV begins the third season of coach Marcus Arroyo’s tenure with just a 2-16 record over the past two seasons. However, the Rebels should be able to make headway in 2022 as they bring back some quality producers to pair with a nice transfer class. The big question is at the quarterback, where Tennessee transfer Harrison Bailey and redshirt student Doug Brumfield competed for the job earlier in the season. Idaho State is coming off a 1-10 season and it would be a surprise if the Bengals could match an FBS opponent.

Charlotte at Florida Atlantic

Date: Saturday 27 August | Time: 19 o’clock
Location: FAU Stadium – Boca Raton, Florida
TV: CBS sports network [Channel finder]
Live broadcast: | Cell phone, mobile phone: CBS Sports App

Storylines: This is a battle between two Conference USA programs looking to return to bowl games in 2021 after disappointing 5-7 results. This should be a solid quarterback fight; Both Charlotte’s Chris Reynolds and FAU’s N’Kosi Perry have made it onto the Watch list of Conference USA’s preseason players after productive campaigns in 2021.

Vanderbilt, Hawaii

Storylines: Legendary former Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang begins his head coaching career with a save game against Vanderbilt after spending the last 10 seasons as an assistant at various levels of college football. He appears to be facing a steep rebuild following an unceremonial end to Todd Graham’s tenure that included a mass exodus of players via the transfer portal. Vanderbilt is looking for traction after a 2-10 season in 2021 under sophomore coach Clark Lea.
