What is DAZN? How to buy Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennadiy Golovkin 3 through boxing streaming app

Gennadiy Golovkin is set to finally beat Canelo Alvarez on September 17, hoping to silence the doubters – and Canelo himself.

At an introductory press conference, Canelo Golovkin several times called two faces. Golovkin, the IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO middleweight champion, spoke candidly to El Nuevo Herald’s George Ebro about Canelo’s attitude as they faced each other for the first time since 2018.

“If someone can’t see reality, that’s their problem, that says a lot about them. His behavior at the press conference shows how insecure he is, how he still lives in illusions about the situation and the stories,” Golovkin told Ebro, translated via Boxing Scene. “He drew his own conclusions based on the first press conference.

“His behavior was different in the second. He analyzed that he looked ridiculous [in the first one]. For a fighter of this caliber, someone who wants to go big shows that he still has to grow, he has a lot to learn. He’s far from the best.”

Canelo and Golovkin first fought in 2017, with the fight ending in a controversial split decision draw. They competed in a rematch in 2018 that was delayed a few months after Alvarez tested positive for the banned substance Clenbuterol. Canelo won by majority decision. This fight will be for Canelo’s undisputed super middleweight title.

Since the second fight, Golovkin has won four times in a row. He won the IBF and IBO middleweight titles in 2019 against Sergiy Derevyanchenko. After a two-year absence from the ring, Golovkin fought Ryota Murata in April. Golovkin won via TKO in the ninth round to win the WBA (Super) middleweight title.

After losing to Floyd Mayweather in 2013, Canelo has gone 15-1-1. Canelo unified super middleweight just 11 months after the Golovkin fights. His most recent win was in November 2021 against IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb Plant.

In May, Canelo fought for a second career light heavyweight title, losing to Dmitry Bivol by unanimous decision.
