Will Levis pro day results: Highlights from Kentucky quarterback’s 2023 NFL Draft workouts

The NFL’s Pro Day moved to Lexington, Kentucky on Friday afternoon when Will Levis had his chance to make a good impression on league decision makers.

Overall, it was like any other pro tag and Levis did nothing to hurt his draft stash in the process. The Kentucky quarterback ended up flashing his arm strength on multiple throws of at least 60 air yards while also mixing in a demonstration of his accuracy on the move earlier in the session.

Levis hit the fastball, and thanks to a quiet Kentucky facility, we could hear the impact of the ball hitting its receivers. He missed a few shots, but the misses weren’t worrisome from an overall accuracy standpoint.

At the very least, there’s no doubt that the 6-3, 231-pound Levis have all the physical tools to be a successful NFL quarterback. Reviews of practice were generally positive, and that should keep him a top pick for the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

He met with the Panthers, who hold the top draft pick, before practicing Friday and could end up being the earliest Wildcats quarterback selected in the NFL draft since Tim Couch picked the No. 1 overall pick in 1999 became.

Will Levi’s daily live updates, highlights

(All times Easter.)

13:36 — Will Levis’ throwing session is now over. He showed some accuracy in and out of the pocket before finally showing his arm at the end with what Jordan Palmer called “Happy Gilmore Throws,” including one that even hit the roof at Kentucky’s practice facility.

It was a pro day that didn’t scare any team and the results were positive. We’ll have to wait and see if it’s enough to convince teams to play Levis against Bryce Young and CJ Stroud, but his arm strength will win many fans in the league.

13:33 — It’s time for some fun throws to wrap up the throwing session – aka the showcase for Levi’s one-arm cannon. He now routinely throws the ball about 65 to 70 yards out into the field.

13:30 — Here’s another angle from that throw on the run from earlier. You can see the ball just explode out of Levi’s hands.

13:25 — Levis’ ability to bring the ball down quickly will make some teams fall in love with him during the process. He hits his receiver nicely here on the touchline.

13:22 — The best throw of the day so far was Levi’s on the run, hitting his intended receiver Barion Brown in the crotch.

13:18 — Levis has started making some outside of the pocket shots and is working on some deep shots. On the initial deep pass, he was a bit wary as he subdued the receiver.

13:16 — Levis’ arm strength is on full display as he shows off his fastball.

13:13 — Levis pitches to his draft colleagues during this session.

13:11 — We’re off and running at Will Levi’s Pro Day Throwing Session. He started with some short throws but mixed a bit of everything. Not many Colts employees are present, according to IndyStar.

12:59 — According to SEC Network, Levis is now expected to begin his throwing session at 1:05 p.m. ET.

12.00 – In addition to the Panthers, the Titans and Seahawks are also well represented at the Levis’ Pro Day in Lexington.

11:28 am — According to The Athletic’s Colts beat writer Zak Keefer, Levis’ pro tag turnout is lower than Ohio State’s CJ Stroud but still ample to watch the Kentucky quarterback. It’s no surprise, however, as Ohio State had several top contenders at other positions for teams in the city to evaluate.

10:52 am — Will Levis continues his meet and greet with the Panthers before throwing today. He was seen speaking to several members of the organization, including head coach Frank Reich. It has been reported that Levis is expected to start throwing around 12:30 p.m. ET.

10:27 am — According to his quarterbacks coach Jordan Palmer, we can expect around 55 throws from Levis today.

10:22 am — Levi’s measurements are in and there are no noticeable differences from the measurements he took at the NFL Combine in early March.

9:55 am — The Panthers continue to serve up the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. They reportedly had dinner with Will Levis Thursday night before his pro day on Friday.

Will Levis throw at the Kentucky Pro Day?

Yes, Will Levis will be throwing on Kentucky’s Pro Day. The Wildcats quarterback has been training and throwing at the NFL Combine 2023, but he’s expected to stand up for himself on his pro day as well.

Levis displayed a strong arm on the combine and logged a 59 mph throw in the ball speed drill. That was just 1 mph slower than Anthony Richardson’s 60 mph mark.

If Levis (6-4, 229 pounds) does well on the field drills, he may be close to a top 10 lock. As it stands, he’s the most likely of the top quarterbacks to slip, but he could still easily be a top-five pick.

Will Levi’s NFL Draft Projection

Currently, Will Levis is expected to be a first-round draft pick. However, his draft range varies more than any of the other top quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL draft.

Levis could end up being the third quarterback selected, in which case he would likely be a top-five pick. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. puts the Colts in third place to select Levis, with CJ Stroud and Bryce Young coming off the board ahead of him.

However, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah dropped Levis to the Buccaneers’ pick with 19 overall. So it’s possible for Levis to drop out of the top 15 when teams like the Lions, Raiders and Titans are all without quarterbacks.

SN’s Vinnie Iyer currently has Levis picked 6th by the Lions. That would allow him to compete with Jared Goff for the starting job on a high-profile offensive in Detroit.

All of these taunts tell us one thing: While Levis will likely be picked in the first round, it’s uncertain when exactly he will be picked. He could be a top 5 pick, or he could slip to the back end of the top 20 – or even outside of it.

SN’s Jacob Camenker also contributed to this report.
