The World Baseball Classic returns in 2023 after COVID-19 forced its cancellation in 2021.
This year’s tournament features 20 teams, more than the 16 teams from the previous four WBC competitions. The four other teams came through qualifying tournaments.

The Dominican Republic, United States and Japan are pre-WBC favorites, followed by Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Games are played in Chinese Taiwan, Japan and the United States.

The Sporting News will follow the standings for all four pools with five teams in the tournament. The top two finishers in each pool advance to the Quarterfinals. Teams from Pools A and B will play at the Tokyo Dome in Japan; Teams from pools C & D play at LoanDepot Park in Miami, where the championship round is also played.

2023 World Baseball Classic Baseball Schedule
The pool game at the 2023 World Baseball Classic will be held March 7-15 (US Eastern Time Zone). Matches will be broadcast on the Fox Sports family of networks. Games can also be streamed via fuboTV, which offers a free trial.
