Need a hockey fill? Fear not, fans, because the 2022 IIHF U20 World Championship is here.
The World Juniors start (again) on Tuesday 9th August with 10 nations taking to the ice to battle it out for the world title.
The IIHF decided to try the tournament again in the summer after it was canceled in December due to a COVID-19 outbreak. It will be played again in Edmonton at Rogers Place, home of the Oilers.
The field of competition is the same as in winter, with the exception of Russia, which has been excluded from all IIHF events. At the top of the country is Latvia, taking part in the tournament for the first time since 2017.

2022 World Junior Championship Ranking
Teams that usually win get three points. Teams that win in overtime get two points while the loser gets one point. Teams losing in regulation will not receive any points.

2022 World Juniors Odds
According to Sports Interaction, the 2022 tournament will be a four-horse race.
Canada, Finland, the United States and Sweden are the clear frontrunners when it comes to winning this year’s tournament, with the Canadians holding the best odds at +116. All four countries are +400 or higher, while the other six teams are +1386 or lower.
