York City 0-0 Scunthorpe United

Scunthorpe moved six points away from National League safety with a goalless draw in York but could have had more after spurning a host of chances.

The visitors dominated the first half as Cameron Wilson City goalkeeper Ryan Whitley saved a well-placed shot from the edge of the box and Richie Bennett fired wide shortly afterwards.

Whitley denied Jacob Butterfield and then tapped a header away from Bennett before York came closest to a first-half opener when Ryan Fallowfield hit a post with a low drive.

York was outraged when Ben Richards-Everton appeared to handle a Shaqai Forde shot inside the box but penalty appeals were averted.

Bennett missed two more chances for the Irons while Lenell headed John-Lewis over at the other end as the game clearly ended.
