2022 NASCAR at the Roval

Chase Elliott emerged victorious at Superspeedway in Talladega, Ala., denying Ryan Blaney a chance to become the 20th winner of the 2022 season by 0.046 seconds.

After the race, these drivers were below the cut line: Austin Cindric, William Byron, Christopher Bell and Alex Bowman. Chase Briscoe is tied with Cindric and sits just above the cut line.

Bowman’s departure is now certain as he announced he will miss the Cup race at the Roval and is focused on his continued recovery from a concussion he sustained at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks ago. Cody Ware, who injured his ankle at TMS but still raced at Talladega, will also sit out the road race.

Also this week, NASCAR slapped Kevin Harvick and the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing team with a massive penalty, deducting 100 points from the driver/team and fined $100,000. Crew chief Rodney Childers was also suspended for the next four races.
