PENRITH PANTHERS vs NEW ZEALAND WARRIOR – FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 6:00 PM, PANTHERS STADIUM

Penrith made a statement last week when he defeated the in-form Rabbitohs 26-22, building an unassailable lead at the top of the table in the process. Now he’ll need to find a balance over the next two weeks to keep his powder dry finals and ensure they stay in shape for the arrival of Sudden Death Footy.

Penrith rumbled in round 15 to a 40-6 win over the Warriors at Redcliffe. Brian To’o snatched two of the Panthers’ seven tries as they celebrated their fifth straight win in the rivalry.

The Warriors are struggling against the good teams in the competition, losing their last 10 to the current top 8 by an average margin of 24.9 points.

Manly have won eight of their last 10 against Canberra, including a 25-6 win at Mudgee in Round 4. The Sea Eagles have also won seven of their last nine at GIO Stadium.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITS vs NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS – SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 7:35 PM, ACCOR STADIUM

With the final just two weeks away, the Rabbitohs and the Cowboys will jeopardize their Premiership credentials in a delicious showdown at the Accor Stadium.

Souths are on a six-game winning streak against North Queensland, most recently with a 46-18 result at Newcastle in Round 17 last year, with Alex Johnston and Taane Milne both scoring hat-tricks. This is the first gathering of clubs in Sydney since 2015.

WEST STIGER vs ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA KITES – SUNDAY, AUGUST 28, 2:00 PM, COMMBANK STADIUM

The Tigers find themselves in a world of pain after a record-breaking loss to the Roosters, and they face a Dragons side capable of scoring big even when their attack clicks like it did in Round 23.

The Saints ended a four-game losing streak against the Tigers 12-6 in Round 8 at WIN Stadium.

In general, clashes between teams tend towards the lower end of the scale, with eight of their last 10 meetings scoring 38 points or less.

GOLD COAST TITANS vs NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS – SUNDAY, AUGUST 28, 4:05 PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM

The Titans are struggling to dodge the wooden spoon and the Knights are struggling to restore their credibility when they meet at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday.

Edrick Lee scored a club record five tries as Newcastle beat Gold Coast 38-18 at home in round 16. But the Titans are coming off a six-game winning streak against the Knights at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Knights are a surprisingly decent 4-7 away from Newcastle this season. The Titans are only home 3-7. Neither side can be trusted, but a points celebration seems very likely.
