Who reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League in 2021/22?
Champions of the Europa League Eintracht Frankfurt is not there to defend their title as they played in the group stage of the 2022/23 Champions League and even advanced to the knockout stages of that tournament. So we won’t have a repeat champion this year.
Manchester United, Feyenoord, Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar DonetskAnd juventus are the teams in the field who have previously won the competition, while all other remaining teams have never won a Europa League trophy or its predecessor (UEFA Cup). Roma And Sporty CP each reached the final but missed the ultimate prize.
Not a single team from last year’s 2021/22 Europa League quarter-finals is still alive in this year’s competition.
In fact, only two clubs from last year’s round of 16 – Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) and Sevilla (Spain) – made it into the round of 16 of this year’s tournament.
