Expanding its offering to existing hospitality partners as well as new labeling markets, Star will be showcasing its latest printer, mC-Label, which is ideal for a variety of applications and environments, including food labelling. With the recent increase in multi-channel online orders and stricter allergy legislation, the cloud-enabled mC-Label offers an eco-friendly solution for printing customer take-out orders, delivery and labeling items. It can also be connected via Star CloudPRNT™ to centrally held allergy labeling software and online product ingredient databases to print label updates directly when required, which could prove a significant cost savings for larger chains.

Part of Star’s popular mCollection, this versatile printer can print on a variety of media including die-cut, linerless and continuous labels. Offering flexible connectivity including USB-C, LAN and CloudPRNT, the printer is designed to work with traditional systems, networks, web-based systems or with Apple, Android or Windows tablets where the USB-C Connecting the printer can power and charge the device, as well as network tethering to the tablet via Star’s SteadyLAN+ technology.

In addition, Star’s new TetherLAN technology included in the mC-Label allows a tablet or device with an active cellular (4G, 5G) or WiFi connection to share that connection with the mC-Label printer. This then allows the printer to print directly from cloud-based services, including StarPrinter.Online, while also enabling remote management and diagnostics and making all supported, attached USB peripherals “cloud-enabled”.

Building on its experience with POS printers, Star has expanded its portfolio with a range of POS peripherals. This allows companies to develop POS systems knowing that all products and peripherals are successfully integrated and provided by a single manufacturer. At the event, Star will be showcasing its range of versatile tablet stands for hospitality POS, visitor management and self-service applications, as well as its CD4 range of cash drawers.

The universal mEnclosure tablet holder for a wide range of Apple, Android and Windows tablets offers a versatile and secure solution compatible with the new mUnite stands. Available in black or white, the mUnite stands maintain a clean design and hide all cables connecting devices while routing power supplies under the counter to reclaim space in busy environments. With table, wall and floor versions, the mUnite stands offer a flexible solution for hospitality, visitor management and any environment where customer interaction is crucial.

In addition to the hardware, Star offers additional software and integration tools for enhanced connectivity. Star’s CloudPRNT technology is available on a range of thermal receipt, label and matrix kitchen printers, offering the widest range of cross-platform remote cloud receipt and online order printers available today. Hospitality benefits from being able to send customer orders directly to the printer from an online ordering service or app, eliminating the need for an extra tablet in the bar or restaurant. Additionally, Star CloudPRNT-enabled printers can receive orders from multiple channels including POS, tablet, web and cloud, resulting in an efficient ordering and transactional process for any hospitality business.

For venues that prefer a fully managed service, Star will demonstrate its unique dedicated enterprise StarPrinter.Online service, which enables printer inventory to be managed with minimal setup time and cost, and virtually no integration. This allows printing directly from an ordering website via REST API, or directly from the page using JavaScript, or even via email. Not only can the order service communicate directly with the printer to create print jobs, but it also receives printer inventory status. Thanks to an online dashboard, users have an overview of all devices and activities, including reliable tracking of print jobs with notification of device status changes, barcode scans, new device connections to a group, etc. More printers and peripherals can be easily added without the need for server upgrades.

“With many hospitality venues looking for innovative ways to boost business, Star’s unique POS solutions can facilitate the creation of new revenue streams and enable businesses to serve a potentially large number of customers ordering food and beverages from multiple locations . Additionally, the launch of StarPrinter.Online demonstrates Star’s focus on providing businesses with a comprehensive suite of tools to efficiently and cost-effectively manage the ordering process and entire printer inventory,” said Simon Martin, Director & General Manager, Star Micronics EMEA .
