NFL Draft order 2023: Updated list of Round 1 picks after Panthers acquire No. 1 pick from Bbears
After a couple of dismal seasons, the Panthers are finally getting a chance to land the quarterback of their dreams.
Carolina agreed to send a war chest of assets including No. 1 wide receiver DJ Moore to Chicago in exchange for the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. It’s a move that appears to confirm what we’ve known for some time: The Panthers are determined to fill their gap at quarterback this year.

The move is significant for several reasons. First, it pairs Chicago QB Justin Fields with a true No. 1 pass catcher capable of bearing the load in the X position. It also gives them more flexibility to improve their offensive line, among other things. Fields has been fired 55 times in the past year.
Most notably — at least in the near future — the NFL Draft is undergoing a massive reshuffle that should include a wave of corresponding moves further down the draft board.

Top prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft
This year’s draft oozes talent, with a trio of passers-by expecting to be involved early in the process, according to pundits.

After acquiring Chicago’s pick, Carolina seems certain to be taking on a potential franchise QB. The choice is expected to be Bryce Young from Alabama or CJ Stroud from Ohio State. SEC stars Anthony Richardson (Florida) and Will Levis (Kentucky) should also be in the mix for the top 10 pick after strong performances at this year’s NFL Combine.
This year’s draft is also expected to feature game-changers on defense, including Georgia’s Jalen Carter, Alabama’s Will Anderson and Clemson’s Myles Murphy. Don’t be surprised if an offensive lineman jumps to the fore as well; The bears seem ready to build a fort around Fields in the pocket.
