A New and Exciting Sport Played for Charity

raider ball is a unique and exciting sport created by Bavan Singh, an avid soccer fan and USAF veteran who relocated to Northern Illinois from New Jersey.

Inspired by a dream, Singh set out to create a new sport combining elements of soccer, rugby, soccer and the South Asian wrestling sport of kabaddi. The result is Raiderball, a fast-paced and action-packed sport played by teams of 4 or 5 players, depending on the size of the players available.

The game consists of two teams, with one team playing offense and the other playing defense. The offensive team has 30 seconds to get the ball from their end zone into the defense’s end zone while the defenders try to prevent them from entering. Only one raider can enter the end zone at a time, and the four defenders cannot touch it. The raid killer sits in the end zone and can either hold the raider down to expire the game clock, knock him offside, or block the shot.

But Raiderball is more than just a game. The North American Raiderball Association (NARBA) aims to play this sport for charity and raising funds for the community. NARBA is focused on using Raiderball as a way to give back to communities and support local charities and organizations. According to Singh, “We wanted to create a sport that not only promotes exercise and sportsmanship, but also has a positive impact on society. We’re excited to use Raiderball to raise money for causes that matter and make a difference in people’s lives. Our motto is- Community first & always.

NARBA has big plans for the future of Raiderball, including creating leagues and tournaments across the country. Singh and his team are currently looking for players and teams to play in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. They hope to expand the sport to other areas soon and continue to use it to give back to communities. “We’re also looking forward to creating a women’s league and a youth league so everyone can enjoy this sport and give back!” For mixed men/women and youth teams, NARBA aims to bring a flag football-style version of the game to the table make so that less contact is required.

For Singh, creating Raiderball is more than just a dream come true. It’s a way to make a difference and have a positive impact on the world. “Raiderball is more than just a sport,” he says. “It’s a way to bring people together, have fun, and support causes that matter. We’re excited to see where Raiderball is headed and how it can help transform people’s lives.”
