Across the Spider-Verse Merch Reveals Another Variant

merchandising and SPOILER Now it seems they go together like a lime and a coconut, so please take a sip of this latest cocktail in regards to the upcoming animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Thanks to Across the Spider-Verse Special edition of the board game Trouble (via Twitter user @haileestan2007), another Spider variant has been revealed to appear in the sequel: Ben Reilly, aka The Scarlet Spider.

Created by writer Gerry Conway for Marvel Comics in 1975, Ben Reilly really rose to prominence after starring in the infamous film clone saga Action set in the 1990s. Reilly, a genetic clone of Peter Parker, possesses a power similar to Parker’s and appears as the superhero The Scarlet Spider, wearing a red and blue costume similar to Spider-Man’s, with a sleeveless hoodie.

Based on the image revealed by the board game, the design for the Scarlet Spider is set to appear Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be heavily inspired by his most iconic ’90s look. So far, no further details have been revealed about how the character will enter the multiversal madness. But he’s far from the only one somewhat obscure Spiderman Variant because of feature…

Previous merch for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse announced that none other than Earth-138’s Spider-Punk will also be making an appearance. Developed by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel for Marvel, this variant gained its powers after being bitten by a spider irradiated by illegal landfills. Declaring himself Spider-Man, he fights for freedom and justice while sporting a highly triumphant horned mohican and wielding a guitar.


Miles Morales & the Variants fight for the spot Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Star Shameik Moore will take on the role of Miles Morales aka Spider-Man in the upcoming sequel. He is joined by Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara AKA Spider-Man 2099, an alternate version of Spider-Man from the future; Issa Rae as Jessica Drew AKA Spider-Woman, a pregnant woman with spider-like abilities; and the character Takuya Yamashiro, also known as “Japanese Spider-Man”, from 1978 Spiderman Series.

Alongside the variants, Miles is joined by some old friends in the form of Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker aka Spider-Man. After introducing the alternate Spider-Man in the 2018 Oscar winner Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse see Miles Morales being drawn into the multiverse once again. The animated epic adventure will transport Brooklyn’s friendly, full-time neighborhood Spider-Man across the multiverse to team up with a new team of Spider-People to face a villain more powerful than anything they’ve ever faced .


This villain has now been revealed to be The Spot, voiced by Scott pilgrim vs the world Star Jason Schwartzman. A B-list villain with the ability to access and manipulate interdimensional portals that stick to his skin.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023 and will be followed by a third film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versescheduled for release in March 2024.
