After FBI: International’s Latest Case Got Personal For The Fly Team, Did Forrester Cross A Line?
Spoilers ahead for the April 18 episode FBI: Internationalcalled “blood feud”.
The agents of FBI: International‘s Fly Team finds themselves in life-threatening situations every week hunting down criminals across Europe (or participating in a never-before-seen crossover event), but the threat came in Budapest in Blood Feud. ranger had a direct hit in the back from the start when a Russian hitman targeted him with a plan for revenge. Forrester’s would-be assassin was in Budapest almost before the Fly team even knew there was a threat. Add in a familiar face, an unhelpful CIA agent, and one of the Fly team’s agents falling in love with a civilian, and the case ended up getting very personal, leading to Forrester doing something that might crossed a line.
Perhaps it should have been a sign that the Fly team was in for a rough ride when “Blood Feud” began with them happily going out to dinner together, accompanied by Rain‘beautiful girlfriend Maya. By the end of the lesson, the man who wanted to kill Forrester had kidnapped Maya and demanded that he come alone to get her, and would he really be Scott Forrester if he hadn’t put himself in danger voluntarily if it had rescue need someone else?
He had to trick Raines to stop him from following him to get to Maya and the fight between him and his would-be killer was ugly. Maya actually had an assist before Forrester finally got the upper hand, and I expected Forrester to either handcuff his would-be killer or hurt him enough that he wasn’t a threat anymore. Instead, he picked up the gun as his opponent yanked a knife from his shoulder, walked up to him and shot him in the head from just yards away without batting an eyelid.
And I don’t know if I’ve ever been so surprised so suddenly FBI: International when I was from Forrester, pretty much executed a man without even attempting an arrest! I’m not saying Forrester wasn’t marginalized when he arrived at the train yard to rescue Maya, and I have no problem believing that his opponent would have done the exact same thing to him had the tables been turned. Forrester probably saved lives in the long run. The show also didn’t indicate that it was something Forrester wouldn’t normally do, so after the events of “Blood Feud,” maybe it doesn’t matter if he takes the shot.
Still, it was a very interesting character moment for Forrester, who clearly had his priorities very, very very straight ahead, and sparing the life of the man who tried to kill him when Maya’s life was in danger was something he didn’t even think about. It’s worth noting that at this point it wasn’t clear if Maya was seriously injured or not, and this was one of the few times in the episode that Forrester didn’t have a member of his team trying to keep an eye on him. had no one to worry about but Maya and didn’t need to hold back. And he certainly didn’t hold back!
This came during a season that Forrester had plenty to frustrate, complete with bypassing him early and putting his career in jeopardy. Even if it was partly in the service of giving Luke Kleintank Some time after his child was born, the character was nearly stripped of his role as the leader of the Fly team and sent back to the United States in disgrace. He had to deal with it FBI‘S Jubilee He pushed boundaries during the global crossover event and had many tough fights especially in season 2. Did he ever have to cross a line despite having to keep his job after the conflict with Dandridge?
We can only speculate, and it’s entirely possible that I’ll turn a molehill into a mountain that will never be visited again FBI: International, but Forrester, who took this shot, definitely caught my attention. Find out what’s next for Forrester with new episodes of FBI: International (opens in new tab) Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, in between FBI (which Maggie was just preparing for a rough case) at 8 p.m. and FBI: Most Wanted at 10 p.m. ET.
