Alexander Bublik loses cool again while playing ‘f******* stupid’ sport
Alexander Bublik isn’t having much fun when it comes to results at top events at the moment, having lost seven straight singles matches, most recently in the first round at the Rotterdam Open, while expecting a bill from his racket supplier after his antics last week.
The Kazakh player started his year with back-to-back United Cup losses, followed by first-round eliminations at the ASB Classic and Australian Open before losing his two singles gummies in the Davis Cup tie against Chile.
Last week he left the Open Sud de France in disgrace when he smashed three racquets in his loss to Gregoire Barrere in the round of 32.

He had hoped to finally end his drought on Monday but Stan Wawrinka was in no mood to give gifts as the three-time Grand Slam winner went 7-6 (7-5), 6-6 at the Rotterdam Open. 4 won.
But the match was once again not without drama as Bublik took on the chair umpire late in the second set and yelled: “I’m complaining about how stupid this damn sport is because it’s damned. **** dumb. Playing tennis gives me a headache.”
His latest blast comes after he broke three racquets in Montpellier when his Open Sud de France title defense was over in round one.
And it seems he’ll have to pay for those smashed racquets himself, with Warwrinka – who will actually be teaming up with Bublik in men’s doubles in Rotterdam on Tuesday – responding to a tweet on the incident, saying: “Yonex will send him a small invoice too.” 😉”
Argentinian Marcos Zugasti echoed Wawrinka’s comments, adding: “That response from Stan. Random Fact: Since 2017, Yonex has started including clauses in several contracts with its players to charge them a fee for each racket they break in games. And the Japanese agree: you get the discount bill.”
Bublik has slipped to 50th in the ATP rankings, his last win on the tour coming in October when he reached the Swiss Indoors quarterfinals.
