College football action for Week 2 on CBS Sports Network began late Friday night with a showdown in Mountain West between division foes Boise State and New Mexico to start the weekend. But Saturday brings a four-game action marathon that stretches from noon into the wee hours of Sunday.

With teams from the AAC, ACC, Conference USA, Mountain West, Pac-12 and a few independents all taking part in the action, CBS Sports Network will offer viewers a selection of teams from across the nation. UTSA vs. Army presents two solid programs in the quest for victory after tough losses in Week 1 against top-flight opponents. After lackluster performances, Memphis and Navy are also looking for their first wins to start their seasons.

Tonight, Syracuse will look to confirm their attention-grabbing win over Louisville by starting with a 2-0 away win over a UConn program that looks improved under first-year coach Jim Mora. To wrap up the night, two West Coast teams start 1-0 as Oregon State travels to a Fresno State program that upset UCLA last season.

Navy finished 2020 3-7, 2021 4-8 and started the 2022 season with a 14-7 loss to FCS opponents Delaware. After finishing 12-2 in Mike Norvell’s last season as coach in 2019, Memphis went 8-3 under Ryan Silverfield in 2020 and then fell back to 6-6 last season. The Tigers began their 2022 season with a 49-23 loss at Mississippi State that was never competitive and is in danger of starting 2-0 for the first time since 2013.

Star running back Sean Tucker counted a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown while piling up a total of 183 yards. Quarterback Garrett Shrader was also efficient, completing 18 of 25 passes with two touchdowns. UConn went into the season just 4-32 for the past three seasons, but the Huskies were competitive in a 31-20 loss in Week 0 at Utah State and clinched a 28-3 win over FCS opponents Central last week Connecticut State.

Oregon State vs. Fresno State

Spread: State of Oregon -1 | Will the beavers cover? Check out the Week 2 projections from SportsLine

Storylines: Oregon State emerged as the big winner from Week 1 thanks to a dominant 34-17 home win over Boise State. Now the Beavers face another challenger from Mountain West as they travel to face a team from Fresno State that finished 10-3 last season. The Beavers made three turnovers against the Broncos but forced five on a brilliant defense. The Bulldogs began Jeff Tedford’s second term as head coach with a 35-7 win over Cal Poly. It was hard to learn a lot from a 9-2 win over an FCS opponent last season, but star quarterback Jake Haener enjoyed an effective game, completing 36 of 42 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns. This is the first meeting between the teams since Fresno State’s 16-14 win over Oregon State in 2003.
