Arnold Palmer Invitational purse, payout breakdown: How much prize money will the winner make?
The stars are out in Florida this weekend.
A stacked field at the Arnold Palmer Invitational is led by the top three players in the world: Jon Rahm, defending champion Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. They’ll all be fighting for bragging rights, the coveted winning red cardigan sweater, and a tidy little paycheck.
With the increase in prize money on the PGA Tour this season, the stakes have gotten even higher. This year’s winner will earn about 33 percent more than Scheffler did last year for his win, in addition to the usual perks like a spot in each of the four majors and a three-year exemption from the PGA Tour.

With 27 of the top 30 golfers in the world in attendance this week, it will undoubtedly be an exciting battle over who will lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a full breakdown of the prize pools on offer at Bay Hill this week:
Arnold Palmer Invitational purse for 2022
This week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational prize money is high 20 million dollars. That’s almost double the previous year’s figure of $12 million.
Part of the reason for the huge increase in prize money is that it was chosen by the PGA Tour as the “Exalted Event” for the 2023 season. With the rise of the LIV Golf Tour – which has offered players huge sums to switch – the PGA Tour has had to sweeten the pot to ensure their best players stay on the course.
To achieve this, the tour has scheduled 17 high-profile events throughout the season. They come with an increased purse, and the top 20 players in last season’s FedEx Cup leaderboard can skip just one of the 17 events without losing part of their bonus payout at the end of the year.

How much money does the winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational get?
The winner at Bay Hill this weekend will take home a nice little paycheck $3.6 million. Again, that’s significantly more than the $2.16 million Scottie Scheffler took home after winning the 2022 edition.
Each of the top three finishers earns at least $1 million. Not a bad payoff for four days of hard work.
If two players tie, the values of the two tied points are averaged and divided equally between them. For example, if there is a two-way tie for third place, both players take home $1.18 million.
