Arsenal vs Bournemouth live score, updates, highlights as visitors take shock lead, Trossard out injured
Leaders Arsenal need to continue their winning streak to keep hopes of winning the Premier League alive and end a nearly two-decade drought. A home game against bottom-placed Bournemouth on Saturday is a must in that regard.
The Gunners responded well to defeat by challengers Manchester City on February 15, clinching three straight wins to maintain their league lead. City won their game the previous Saturday and reduced the deficit to just two points.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth have recorded just one win in their last nine Premier League games, dropping them to the dreaded bottom three. After last week’s narrow home loss to Man City (4-1), the formula will be the same: to defend their lives and hope they can score at the other end.
Sporting News is following the Arsenal v Bournemouth game live with live score updates and commentary.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth live updates, Premier League highlights
35 minutes: Arsenal penalty appeal! The VAR checks a ball that fell on the arm of Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham, who mistimed his header inside the box and saw the ball hit his arm. But the officials did not see it as a criminal offence.
33 minutes: It is Gabriel Martinelli who now acts as a center forward for Arsenal. Emile Smith Rowe has gone well to the left, where Martinelli usually works his magic. That could make things harder for the Gunners as Martinelli is better at beating defenders at a 1-on-1 pace.
30 minutes: Arsenal are struggling to get past the five-man backline set up by Bournemouth. And they’re definitely not going to be able to pull through there. The Gunners may need to find a way through a set piece, although the Cherries defended that one well too.
22 minutes: SUB arsenal. Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is injured and has to be replaced by Emile Smith Rowe. Let’s see who plays as center forward. As a reminder, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are not in the squad due to injuries.
20 minutes: Bournemouth chance! What a stop from Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale! The visitors with a clinical runaway led by Philip Billing and Dominic Solanke. The cross into the box goes to a wide-open Dango Ouattara, but Ramsdale closes the angle with the close-range shot.
16 minutes: Bournemouth have absorbed everything Arsenal have thrown at them since Neto’s double save. And interestingly, Bournemouth look like they could injure Arsenal on transition if they get the ball.
4th minute: Arsenal chance! The Gunners’ response is quick, with a double Neto save against Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka to follow up.
1st minute: Goal Bournemouth! Bournemouth Score after just 11 seconds! Bournemouth step out and Dango Ouattara brings up the right flank and his cross makes it through a maze of Arsenal legs. Philip Billing ghosted the run into the pits and finished all alone for a shock lead!
