That win, combined with victories over South Korea and China, was enough to propel the Aussies into second place behind Japan in Pool B, taking them out of the WBC group stage for the first time ever.

Team Australia World Baseball Classic 2023 Lineup
Despite missing star MLB pitcher Liam Hendriks – who is currently undergoing cancer treatment – the Australians have built a deep lineup, led by Chicago cub Liam Spence and LA Angel Aaron Whitefield.
In addition, there is a ton of talent drawn from both the domestic league and the American and Canadian leagues.
