Broncos star Herbie Farnworth signs three-year deal with Dolphins
Broncos star Herbie Farnworth has shockingly rolled back a reported extension with the club, signing a three-year deal with the Dolphins for 2024 and beyond.
The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the NRL’s best centers in recent years, scoring 19 tries in 53 games for Brisbane and representing England at the last World Cup.
Farnworth, who was signed for Brisbane until late 2023, had attracted plenty of interest from rival clubs despite a report The courier post Last month, hinting that Farnworth should stay with the Broncos, he decided to take the money offered at Redcliffe.

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader was delighted with Farnworth’s signing and believes he can make a huge difference to the club.
“There is no doubt Herbie has been on our radar from the moment we started recruiting for this club in late 2021,” he said.
“We made a big play to get him for 2023 and just missed it. Securing him now for the long term is a great win for our club.
“Herbie showed what a great player he can be in the NRL for the Broncos last year before an injury handicapped him.
“To see him recover from his bicep injury late last year and show what a world-class performer he is was incredible.
“We are so excited to see what he will do in the colors of the dolphins.”
Farnworth had an injury-interrupted 2022 season for Brisbane but was among the club’s best players before suffering a bicep tear in mid-year.
The Manchester product has previously expressed interest in playing full-back which could see him locked in a clash with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow next year.

Broncos coach Kevin Walters is confident Farnworth will give his all for the club until he leaves.
“We respect Herbie’s decision on his future and his direct approach – he told us he would let us know before Round 1 and he stuck by it,” Walters said.
“That’s all out of the way now and we can continue without distractions and we know Herbie will give his all for his teammates and for the Broncos jersey in the 2023 season.
“We’re fortunate to have some great talent at centers here in the Broncos, led by Kotoni (Staggs) and Herbie, but your Mariner and Selwyn Cobbo are coming through too, Jesse Arthars is back with us and Delouise Hoeter is really making it happen good depth this position.”
Farnworth also issued a statement following the announcement, highlighting his intention to push for success with the Broncos this season.
“It was a tough decision, but I’m a Bronco through the end of the season and will give 100 percent every time I put the Broncos jersey on,” he said.
“I’ve played a lot of football with a lot of guys on this team and I owe it to them to make sure we get as far as we can this season.
“We had a really strong pre-season and worked incredibly hard, so I’m excited to see what we can achieve together in 2023.”
