The Marie Keating Foundation’s Celebrity Golf Classic returns in its 22nd year, featuring celebrities and supporters teeing off for a good cause.

The 2022 Marie Keating Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic sponsored by Skechers was held today on the North Palmer Course (home of the 2006 Ryder Cup) at the K-Club.

The highly anticipated flagship event has not been held since 2019 due to Covid restrictions, making its 22nd year even more special.

Recognized as one of Ireland’s most prestigious charity golf tournaments, numerous celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment descended on the stunning setting of the K Club to enjoy a day of golf, followed by a gala dinner and the awards ceremony and entertainment.

Ronan Keating hosts the annual event where teams of three golfers are joined by a well-known teammate from the world of entertainment and sports.

Over 30 teams took part as guests had the opportunity to play with a range of high profile international celebrities and sporting legends including Sir Steve Redgrave, Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, Alan Hansen, Shane Byrne, Niall Quinn, Keith Duffy, and Brian McFadden Paddy Houlihan, Bernard Brogan, Stan Boardman and Laurence Kinlan.

The event aims to raise essential funds for the Foundation’s cancer awareness and support services for men and women, with money from this year’s event funding the Marie Keating Foundation’s life-saving community nursing and mobile information service.

At the exclusive event, Foundation Patron and Co-Founder Ronan Keating commented: “I am delighted to be hosting the 22nd annual Marie Keating Foundation Golf Classic here at the K-Club.

“This event has been part of the Foundation since its inception in 1998 and it’s fantastic to be back with everyone. Funds raised go directly back into services, enabling the foundation to continue providing life-saving cancer education and support services to people across the country.

“This year funds were earmarked to support the Foundation’s life-saving community nursing and mobile information services. It is once again great to see the support we receive from so many friends in the world of sport and entertainment, as well as sponsors and corporations. As always, we are so grateful.

“Our main sponsor this year is Skechers and I can only say a huge thank you to them for their continued support but especially this year as we come out of COVID.”
