Who are the favorites to win the BMW Championship?
Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy were fellow favorites going into Round 1, both of whom had 10-to-1 odds of winning the tournament. Neither golfer has won a major event this year, but McIlroy has come a lot closer with top-10 finishes at each of the four majors, including a second-place finish at the Masters.
Rahm was favored en route to the Augusta National but failed to deliver and ended in a tie in 27th place. His best major finish this season was a tie for 12th place at the US Open. But the Spaniard appears to have Vegas on his side this weekend.
Behind them on the odds board are two golfers concluding their breakout seasons in which they each won their first career majors – Scottie Scheffler and Matthew Fitzpatrick.
Of the top 15 players entering the tournament with the best odds, four have previously won the BMW Championship belt: McIlroy in 2012, Justin Thomas in 2019, Rahm in 2020 and defending champion Patrick Cantlay.
