It’s a big sporting weekend with another Cricket World Cup alongside the Premier League, Club World Cup, Six Nations and Super Bowl. Here are five events you need to add to your sports calendar.

Golf: Phoenix Open, Thursday – Sunday

Rory McIlroy is leading the field for this week’s Phoenix Open, taking place in the same city as the Super Bowl.

The Northern Irishman is world No. 1 and will look to match his recent win in Dubai with one in the United States.

Names like Shane Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama, Xander Schauffele and defending champion Scottie Scheffler also started in Arizona yesterday.

England representatives include Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tyrrell Hatton (From 3pm, Thursday to Sunday, Sky Sports Golf).

In one!

Cricket World Cup: England v West Indies, Saturday

The England women begin their T20 Cricket World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Paarl, South Africa tomorrow.

Australia are the overwhelming favorites but England have played well in their warm-up games – including a win over South Africa – and are the reigning champions’ closest challengers.

England have not won this competition since hosting it in 2009 and will be looking to put on a show over the next few weeks to clinch the world title (1pm, Sky Sports Cricket).

Rugby: Ireland vs France, Saturday

Although it is only the second round of the Six Nations, the duel in Dublin between Ireland and France is already being described as decisive.

Ireland are world No. 1 and France are the reigning champions and the duo look well ahead of the other four nations – despite Scotland winning in round one.

Dublin is borderline obsessed with rugby and the occasion will be monumental – expect an electrifying atmosphere (2.15pm, ITV1).

Six Nations Highlights

Football: Club World Cup final, Saturday

Real Madrid’s win over Al Ahly on Wednesday kept hopes alive of a ten-time Club World Cup win in Europe.

But many didn’t expect to face Al-Hilal in the final as the Asian champions met Flamengo in the semis.

However, the two sides meet tomorrow night in Morocco. Madrid are the overwhelming favorites for the title, which would be their fifth, and a win against the Saudi Arabia side tomorrow will mark a good break from their stuttering La Liga form (7 p.m., FIFA+).

Real Madrid are favourites

American Football: Super Bowl VXII

It’s here, arguably the biggest single game of any domestic sport. Over 250 million viewers are expected to watch the 57th Super Bowl on Sunday evening between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Add in a halftime show from superstar Rihanna, and fans are in for a treat as the wee hours of Monday approach.

History will also be made, as this Super Bowl will be the first to pit two brothers – Jason and Travis Kelce – against each other.

The Eagles are slight favorites for this game, but we’ve seen in the past how opportunity can bring out the best in people (11:30pm, ITV1).
